When news started circling that The Young and the Restless had crushingly taken longtime cast member Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) off contract, viewers of the CBS soap opera immediately began wondering about the fate of his on-screen love, Lauralee Bell (Christine Williams). But it turns out that the actress, who is on recurring status at Y&R, is hard at work on new scenes for the series she's called home since 1983.
Bell took to social media with a photo of herself on set of the CBS series, which was created by her parents, William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. And the photo means that new Christine scenes are just around the corner.
Bell's post also revealed some more good news in the post: she has been cast in a new film that begins shooting this weekend. She's keeping mum on more information for the time being, but several fans took a moment to congratulate the actress on her new venture, anyway.
Of course, many fans also made comments regarding Doug Davidson's unfortunate situation with the CBS soap opera. Bell has yet to respond to viewer questions about that topic, but it's likely only a matter of time before she says something about her costar. After all, the two have been in an on-screen relationship for the past couple of decades, and as Davidson recently tweeted, his "history and loyalty is with Y&R."
Meanwhile, October seems to be a good month for Bell. In October 2017, the actress also landed a film project.
Bell has been on both recurring and contract status with Y&R for 35 years. Her additional credits include a short stint as Christine on Y&R's sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful, as well as in films like Mistress Hunter, Deadly Exposé, Just Ask Mike, and Past Sins.
