Courtney Hope is "very impressed" with what The Young and the Restless has planned for Sally Spectra

Hold onto your hats, because Courtney Hope says that the writers at The Young and the Restless have done a damn good job of bringing her The Bold and the Beautiful alter ego, Sally Spectra, to Genoa City.

The votes are in, and CBS Daytime viewers have unanimously decided that Tuesday, November 3, is likely the moment that Courtney Hope's Sally Spectra goes from fan favorite on The Bold and the Beautiful to reigning supreme on The Young and the Restless. That's the date that the character arrives in Genoa City, and Hope says that her beloved B&B alter ego is in good hands at Y&R.

"[Y&R co-head writer] Josh Griffith was really open to [hearing about] Sally's past. It was definitely a collaborative meeting," she tells TV Insider about her discussions with the team at Y&R about Sally's past, present, and future. "I definitely want to honor where they take Sally. They're different writers. Genoa City is different [than Los Angeles]. Josh said if there's anything that's important to you, please let us know. All in all, I'm very impressed with where they're taking Sally."

Of course, the question on everyone's mind is why did Sally choose Genoa City? Is the fictional town really the best place to settle after having faked an illness back in Los Angeles and kidnapped someone in order to keep the ruse alive? Hope sure seems to think so!

"She's looking for a new, fresh start in every area of her life," Hope teases of why she chose GC, adding that Lauren's (Tracey Bregman) friendship with Sally's great aunt and namesake Sally Spectra (Darlene Conley) is also a small part of the reason. "Sally gravitates toward that connection... it makes sense to touch down in a place where there's someone familiar as opposed to going to completely new territory."

So yeah, Genoa City is not exactly completely new. But that's okay, because there's a large chance that Sally is bringing some pretty old baggage to match.

"There was so much left unsaid with Sally. I really wanted to explore that, especially in a new place around new people," Hope says of what might be around the corner storyline-wise. "She's in a new city and she's forming new relationships. Does she bring her past with her? Does she leave it behind?"

Looks like fans will have to tune in to find out! So be sure to watch Hope's debut on The Young and the Restless on Tuesday, November 3. And for more from the actress on her soap-swapping adventures, check out TV Insider's full article here.
