Cady McClain returning to All My Children

Cady McClain returning to All My Children

Two-time Emmy winner Cady McClain will likely return to All My Children before the show goes off the air. McClain, who first appeared as Dixie Cooney in 1988, made her last AMC appearance in April 2010.

Let the returns begin.

Emmy winner Cady McClain (Dixie Martin) is reportedly in talks to head back to Pine Valley before All My Children's scheduled finale in September. The fan-favorite's rumored return is the first high-profile casting news to be announced since the show's cancellation was announced earlier this month.

This does not necessarily appear to be a cancellation-related return, however. Soap Opera Digest reports that McClain and show execs were in talks before AMC's cancellation was announced. Meanwhile, Soaps In Depth reports that McClain has yet to sign her name to any deals -- but the actress will more than likely make an AMC appearance before the show ends its run.

McClain made her AMC debut in 1988. She remained with the show through 1996. After a two-year break, McClain returned for another four years. In 2007, Dixie was killed off in a serial killer storyline, prompting outrage from viewers. The show had McClain return on several occasions since her character's untimely demise, the most recent in April 2010 when Dixie welcomed her Uncle Palmer to heaven.

There's no word yet on when McClain will make her on-screen return.
