Aiden Turner back as AMC's Aidan

Emmy-nominated Aiden Turner (Aidan Devane) will return to All My Children next month.

Turner exited All My Children in May to tend to what the actor described as an "unfortunate circumstance... involving my family." Understandably, due to the emergency nature of Turner's exit, All My Children was not able to shift storylines to accommodate the actor's absence.

"Sorry I have been missing from the show," Turner told fans on his official web site. "ABC [has] been very understanding about the situation by letting me go home to England at very short notice."

During Turner's absence, Tom Archdeacon served as a temporary replacement. Archdeacon last appeared on May 24th.

For fan concerned about the fact that Turner does not appear in the show's new opening -- fear not. A show rep tells Soap Opera Central that Turner was not available during the original photo shoot for the new opening. Upon his return to work, Turner's scenes for the opening will be filmed and inserted immediately into the opening sequence.

Turner resumes taping this month and will be back on-screen on August 10th.
