Could All My Children and One Life to Live finally be getting modern-day reboots? An ABC executive says the beloved series may have a chance of being revived.

The daytime community will never lose hope that All My Children and One Life to Live may one day be rebooted, and an ABC exec shares that the network may feel the same way.

Karey Burke, President, ABC Entertainment, spoke about the future of AMC and OLTL (which ended their ABC runs in 2011 and 2012, respectively) at this summer's TV Critics summer press tour at the Beverly Hilton. Though she stresses that there are no firm reboot plans in place at the moment, the network is actively exploring revival options.

"There's nothing that I can report definitively, but I can tell you it's something we're thinking about and looking into and having conversations about," Burke said. "Should there be the right opportunity, we will revisit.... We're really looking at everything, other models and ways of telling those stories."

As fans of AMC and OLTL know, the two shows had brief revivals on the Online Network in 2013. Later, the rights to the show's characters reverted back to ABC -- which the network capitalized on with Hillary B. Smith briefly reprising her OLTL role of Nora Buchanan on General Hospital.

This isn't the first time that Burke has spoken about the future of AMC and OLTL. In February of this year, she was asked about whether or not ABC was considering rebooting the soaps, and her response was: "There might be some conversation about that. There might be." She also praised the strength of GH and surmised that the show has a long future ahead of it.

What do you think about Burke's comments regarding the future of AMC and OLTL? Are you still holding out hope that ABC will reboot the beloved shows?
