A growing list of celebrities are donating money to charities that are helping lessen the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, including All My Children alums Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Santos) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos).

Real-life couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, known to daytime audiences for their roles as All My Children's Hayley and Mateo Santos, are the latest celebrities to step up in an effort to help during the current coronavirus pandemic. With COVID-19 quickly spreading throughout the nation, the couple has donated $1 million to help with relief efforts.

According to People, their generous contribution will be allocated in part to the New York Governor's Office for the purchase of urgently needed ventilators and also toward WIN, an organization that runs eleven women's shelters across New York City.

Ripa and Consuelos join several other celebrities who have recently made donations to various charities that are helping during this crisis, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Kristen Bell, Lady Gaga, Ciara, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, and Jimmy Fallon.

As Soap Central previously reported, the concern over the spread of COVID-19 has caused nearly all television shows to suspend production, including all four daytime dramas. The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful are currently on hiatus for two weeks, General Hospital will remain dark until early April, and Days of our Lives has stopped filming for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced that the Daytime Emmy Awards will no longer be taking place later this spring.
