Charges against Nader reduced, dropped

Things are looking up for Michael Nader (Dimitri), at least from a legal standpoint. At an April 24th hearing in a New York courtroom, the charges filed against Nader following a February drug raid were reduced. The original charges, a felony count of selling a controlled substance, were reduced to a misdemeanor possession. An additional charge of resisting arrest was dropped. In exchange for the reduced charges, Nader pled guilty. He will face sentencing later this month.

According to a legal expert, the sentencing is merely a formality. It is widely expected that Nader will be placed on probation. Most first-time offenders are ordered to undergo drug treatment. Nader, however, enrolled himself into a treatment facility shortly after the incident.

Nader's future at All My Children, however, remains uncertain. He has not returned to the show's Manhattan studios since his legal woes - not even to retrieve some of his personal belongings. There has been no indication that ABC has asked to speak to Nader about reprising the role he created on All My Children nearly a decade ago. "In Michael Nader's absence the role of Dimitri will be played by Anthony Addabbo," is the official statement from the network. Addabbo has been in the role since April 6th.
