Eva LaRue lands primetime drama role

Eva LaRue will be returning to primetime drama this fall. The former All My Children actress has landed a guest spot on CBS's Criminal Minds.

Daytime alum Eva LaRue, who will forever be known as All My Children's Maria Santos, has taken to Twitter to inform fans that she has landed a new primetime gig. LaRue will be featured in the upcoming season of the CBS drama series Criminal Minds.

"Wish I were still playing Natalia on CSI Miami, but playing Agent Mays on Criminal Minds is the next best thing," LaRue said on August 14 just before posting a photo with her new co-star and fellow daytime vet Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters, The Young and the Restless).

From 2005 to 2012, LaRue played the role of Natalia Boa Vista on CSI: Miami, a now-canceled spinoff of the long-running CBS series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. LaRue appeared as All My Children's Maria Santos from 1993 to 1997 and again from 2002 to 2005. She also made special appearances in 2010 and 2011. During her daytime tenure, LaRue earned an Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy nomination in 1997.

LaRue's new role is being billed as a guest stint.
