AMC stars mark four-year anniversary of soap's cancellation

This week marks the four-year anniversary of All My Children last airing on ABC, prompting a few of the now-defunct soap's stars to reminisce on Twitter

September 23 marked the four-year anniversary of All My Children last airing on ABC, and fans aren't the only ones who have been tweeting about the fateful day. Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery), Rebecca Budig (Hayden Barnes, General Hospital; ex-Greenlee Smythe, AMC), and Alicia Minshew (ex-Kendall Hart) have acknowledged the moment via social media.

Mathison, who began working as a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight and hosting a reality show called Game of Homes after the soap's cancellation from ABC on September 23, 2011, and its subsequent cancellation from its second home on The Online Network on September 2, 2013, tweeted in memory of the show. "4 yrs ago the last episode of #AMC aired," he wrote. "Great #memories, #friends and the best fans:) @RebeccaBudig @alicia_minshew"

His former on-screen wife, Budig, responded with the message, "Great great memories and lasting friendship. I love you two weirdos."

Shortly after, Minshew jumped on the AMC train and wrote, "@RebeccaBudig @CameronMathison I agree with you my pal. Love you both. My hair misses you both."

ABC announced its plans to cancel the 41-year-old soap on April 14, 2011. After its last airdate on September 23, 2011, it moved to The Online Network, where it aired along with its sister soap, One Life to Live, from April 28, 2013, to September 2, 2013. Mathison, Budig, and Minshew shared several storylines over the years when all three were on the Agnes Nixon-created soap opera, most notably the scenes in which rivals/besties Kendall and Greenlee fought over Ryan (which happened on numerous occasions).

Do you still miss All My Children? Would you like to see Mathison and Minshew make a return to network soaps? If so, which show do you think they'd be a perfect fit for? Share your thoughts in the Comments section below, on our message boards, or by submitting Feedback.
