MEAN NO MORE: All My Children and Mean Girls alums team up to help the Thirst Project bring clean water to communities

Mean Girls and All My Children alums Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca Montgomery), Jonathan Bennett (ex-J.R. Chandler), and Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni Stafford), and Lindsay Lohan (ex-Alli Fowler, Another World) celebrate Mean Girls Day by helping raise funds for the Thirst Project.

October 3 may seem like an ordinary autumn day to most people, but for fans of the 2004 comedy film Mean Girls, the date means so much more. In one of the movie's most memorable scenes, Cady Heron (played by Another World alum Lindsay Lohan, ex-Alli Fowler) assumes that her crush (Jonathan Bennett, ex-J.R. Chandler, All My Children) is about to hit on her, but instead, all he asks for is the date -- which happened to be October 3.

In celebration of the moment that has become a cult classic favorite, October 3 is now officially known to film buffs as "Mean Girls Day." And this year, Lohan and Bennett marked the occasion by teaming up with some of their former Mean Girls castmates -- including Amanda Seyfried (ex-Joni Stafford, AMC) and Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca Montgomery, AMC) -- to make the day a charity event, as well.

In a video posted to Instagram, the abovementioned stars encourage fans to join them in fundraising for the Thirst Project, which aims to build freshwater wells that will bring clean drinking water to villages that need it.

Says Chabert, "It would be so fetch if you'd click the link in my bio and consider donating $3 to help us reach our goal! This year the #MeanGirlsDoGood Thank you so much for your help!"

As AMC and Mean Girls fans know, this isn't the only time that the iconic mid-2000s film has recently received attention. Arianne Grande's music video for her song "Thank U, Next" gave nod to teen films of the period, including Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, and Bring It On. Jonathan Bennett reprised his Mean Girls role for the video.
