Former All My Children star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who rose to fame playing Susan Lucci's fictional daughter Kendall Hart, celebrates her 27th anniversary of landing in Pine Valley.

There are lots of current whispers happening about the potential reboot of All My Children, and a recent post made by Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) is adding fuel to the fire.

The actress took to Instagram to mark the 27th year since she first stepped into Pine Valley as Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci) devious daughter. "Gulp... 27 years ago on Feb 24 1993, I came to this building, for my first day as Kendall Hart on All My Children," she wrote, adding, "Omg those eyebrows- thank goodness they grow back."

Gellar's AMC costar Eva LaRue (ex-Maria Santos; ex-Celeste Rosales, The Young and the Restless; ex-Margot Collins, Santa Barbara) commented on her soap opera post, writing, "I just found a great Wildwind dinner scene with of all of us! Sooo funny!"

Meanwhile, Will and Grace executive producer Gary Janetti also chimed in, adding, "Kendall really gave Erica a run for her money. 90s AMC was heaven."

Gellar made her debut as AMC's Kendall in 1993 and immediately found success in the genre, winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in 1995 -- the same year she left the soap opera. In 2002, the ABC series recast the role of Kendall with Alicia Minshew, who instantly made the character her own and stayed in Pine Valley until the soap's cancellation in 2011.

If AMC were rebooted, there could be an argument as to which actress would be the best option to play Kendall: Gellar or Minshew. Because of the length of her AMC tenure, many people feel Minshew would be the obvious choice. But Gellar could possibly bring a larger audience from her primetime roles like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ringer, and The Crazy Ones, and her film roles like Cruel Intentions, Scooby-Doo, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. However, Gellar may be too busy filming Other People's Houses, which has been in development at Fox, to reprise the role of Kendall.

With nothing set in stone regarding AMC's future, it's all just speculation and wishful thinking at the moment. But speculation is part of the fun of being a soap opera fan, right?!

What do you think about Sarah Michelle Gellar marking her AMC start-date anniversary? What do you remember from her time in Pine Valley? If AMC were to be rebooted, would you prefer to see Gellar or Alicia Minshew reprise the role of Kendall?
