List of 8 best Demon Slayer fights

8) Zenitsu Agatsuma vs Spider Demon (Son of Rui)

Arc: Natagumo Mountain Arc

Winner: Zenitsu Agatsuma

Anime: Episode 17

Manga: Chapter 33

This fight is when Zenitsu redeems himself to be a strong character in Demon Slayer. Usually, up until this fight, he was seen as a comic relief character. On the Natagumo mountains, he had to face the Spider Demon by himself. But once he lost his consciousness out of fear, his true abilities shone.

This fight showed his Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash, and he moved faster than anyone could keep track of. Zenitsu successfully sliced down the Demon Spider with precision. It is this moment where he turns into a warrior in the eyes of fans, proving to everyone that beneath his cowardly nature lies a strong fighter.

7) Tanjiro vs Enmu (Lower Rank One)

Arc: Mugen Train Arc

Winner: Tanjiro Kamado (with Inosuke’s help)

Anime: Mugen Train Movie / Episodes 1–7 (Mugen Train Arc)

Manga: Chapters 54–62

This battle was against Enmu. Enmu used his powers to put passengers to sleep and infiltrate their dreams. Interestingly, he was a cunning demon as he manipulated his victims' minds before killing their bodies. But he was reduced to dust by Tanjiro and his strong willpower.

To wake up from this dream state, Tanjiro repeatedly killed himself in that world to keep himself awake. Finally, Tanjiro manages to finish him off by risking his life, slashing Enmu’s true neck with Hinokami Kagura.

6) Nezuko vs Daki

Arc: Entertainment District Arc

Winner: No definitive winner; battle interrupted

Anime: Episode 6–7 (Season 2)

Manga: Chapters 82–83

This fight between Nezuko and Daki might be a short one, but it left a lasting impression on Demon Slayer. In this battle, Nezuko is seen to be intense and terrifying, all because Daki mocked Tanjiro and injured many innocent civilians. She snapped and charged right ahead at Daki as she unlocked a transformation.

Nezuko has evolved into a new demon form with a horn and floral body markings, massively boosting her power. However, this demonic rage causes Nezuko to lose control, threatening to kill innocents. Tanjiro must restrain her using a lullaby from their mother.

5) Tengen Uzui vs Gyutaro & Daki

Arc: Entertainment District Arc

Winner: Tengen, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke

Anime: Episodes 8–11 (Season 2)

Manga: Chapters 84–97

Tengen Uzui versus Gyutaro and Daki can be described as a visual masterpiece in Demon Slayer. Tengen faces two demons simultaneously who share the title of Upper Rank Six.

He uses his acrobatics, dual Nichirin blades, and sound-based techniques against these demons, and it is one of the most stylized fights to witness. Tanjiro and Zenitsu back him up while battling Daki, and Inosuke enters the battle after a fatal injury.

4) Kyojuro Rengoku vs Akaza

Arc: Mugen Train Arc

Winner: Akaza

Anime: Mugen Train Movie / Episode 7 (Mugen Train Arc)

Manga: Chapters 63–66

After the climactic defeat of Enmu in the Mugen Train arc, Akaza entered the scene. He was an Upper Rank Three demon and proved himself to be a bigger threat.

Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, refuses to retreat and decides to take his battle head-on. He unleashes powerful Flame Breathing techniques, holding his ground against Akaza in a duel.

Despite being extremely fatigued and injured from the previous battle, Rengoku never wavered in this battle. Even when Akaza pierces his stomach, Rengoku immobilizes him with sheer will, attempting to hold him in place until sunrise. Unfortunately, this is the most tragic battle in Demon Slayer as Rengoku eventually dies.

3) Inosuke, Kanao, and Shinobu vs Doma

Arc: Infinity Castle Arc

Winner: Kanao and Inosuke

Anime: Upcoming Movie

Manga: Chapters 158–162

Doma was an Upper Rank Two demon and was rotten to the core. His fight against Shinobu, Kanao, and Inosuki is emotionally loaded, blending tragedy and revenge. Shinobu was the first one to fight against him alone despite knowing she might now make it alive.

Instead, she uses herself as a vessel for wisteria poison, fatally weakening Doma from the inside. Then Kanao and Inosuke take over and eventually defeat him. This is again a very emotional battle as Shinobu dies, and we get clarity about Inosuke’s biological mother.

2) Zenitsu Agatsuma vs Kaigaku

Arc: Infinity Castle Arc

Winner: Zenitsu Agatsuma

Anime: Upcoming Movie

Manga: Chapters 148–149

Zenitsu’s battle against Kaigaku will be one of the most hyped battles in Demon Slayer. For the first time, Zenitsu will maintain his consciousness and transform into a serious warrior. Kaigaku was a fellow student of the same teacher, but he chose to become a demon, and this led to their teacher taking his life.

This battle was to redeem Zenitsu’s mentor's honor and take down Kaigaku. The best aspect of his battle is how he not only manages to defeat the demon but, in the process, invents a new breathing technique known as Godspeed, which is an extension of the Thunder Breathing technique.

1) Tanjiro and Giyu vs Akaza

Arc: Infinity Castle Arc

Winner: Tanjiro and Giyu

Anime: Upcoming Movie

Manga: Chapters 146–150

This battle is what fans have been waiting for a long time. It is yet to be animated, but manga readers know it is going to be raw, explosive, and cathartic. Akaza has to fight against Giyuu and Tanjiro.

The battle in Demon Slayer is fierce as Akaza’s compass-based technique and brutal strength match Tanjiro’s flame-dancing swordplay. At the peak of this fight, Akaza unlocks his memories, his tragic past as Hakuji, a man who became a demon after losing everything. And in this moment, he accepts his defeat.

In conclusion, Demon Slayer is not only known for its amazing battle scenes but also for the emotional weight carried behind every fight. What sets Demon Slayer apart from typical shonen series is that each fight has a deeper meaning. As the anime continues to adapt the manga's final arcs, fans can expect even more breathtaking and soul-stirring showdowns.
