My Hero Academia doesn't throw around "Rising" titles for just anything. The titles indicate character developments that supersede the storyline, thus marking a huge turning point in a particular hero's life.

It's rare that a character gets a Rising title, and in order to earn one, the character must go above and beyond their normal capabilities and reach a new level of performance. The change isn't just some random power boost; instead, these transformations change the focus of the entire series.

The episode earned a staggering 9.9 rating, showing how incredible this episode was, now being rated at the highest level of a single episode in the series. The quality of the artwork hits its peak during the designated scenes as Deku works together with each of the heroes to defeat the ultimate evil. Years of training, sacrifice, and growth converge into this single battle. The Rising episode is not just about Izuku's victory, but also represents the hero society rising up together.

My Hero Academia Season 6 Episode 8 is Bakugo's most emotional, vulnerable moment ever! While Midoriya is battling Shigaraki, Bakugo finally comes to realize that he used to bully people and that he keeps getting stuck in the guilt from it. He remembers All Might telling him that he needed to help Deku Train and Master One for All.

This My Hero Academia Rising episode is where Bakugo evolves from just a Rival to finally a true partner! His internal conflict ends in him actually feeling remorse for all of the stuff he did and really having the urge to protect and provide for him instead of competing with him. The balance between action and deep emotional context is something that you normally don't see in a My Hero Academia episode.

3. Toshinori Yagi: Rising/Origin

In My Hero Academia's final showdown against All For One, All Might donned some badass powered armor. We got to see the backstory of our hero and how he never gives up on his dream, despite losing One For All. He is proof that anyone can still be a hero without the special power of being a hero.

The storytelling between the past and the present created some great feels. It showed us how young Toshinori inherited the will of his mentor and how All Might, in the present, defies his own physical limitations. The fight scenes also focused on the battle being fought through the strategic method rather than just brute strength.

In Episode 22 of Season 2, it’s Momo’s time to shine as a leader during finals exams. Momo goes head-to-head with Aizawa of Class 1-A and the students of Class 1-B. Throughout this episode, we see her struggle with how she feels about herself after competing in the tournament.

With Todoroki’s help, Momo begins to trust herself again and develop a strategy that includes both her intelligence and strength. This episode shows that winning battles mentally can be just as tough as winning them physically. The character development of Momo illustrates that all heroes must have conviction as well as strength.

5. "I Am Here" – The Shoto Todoroki: Rising That Almost Was

This episode really sparked a lot of controversy in Japan. In the manga, this episode was called “Shoto Todoroki: Rising,” but in the anime, it was changed to “I am Here." The title change takes away from Shoto’s climactic fight against Dabi and his family getting closure after all that has happened to them.

Fans in Japan have expressed their disapproval through social media and through voice actor Yuki Kaji, who has voiced his support for them. In addition to being a great example of Shoto’s fully fleshed-out character, this episode also shows how Shoto has mastered both fire and ice and has become a beacon of hope for civilians as well.

My Hero Academia Rising episodes show that being a hero is not something you are born with; it is something that you must earn through hard work and struggle. What will make these moments memorable is not the massive explosions and fight choreography. They are memorable due to watching the characters who are broken rebuild themselves into bigger and better individuals.
