For years, the Black Clover fandom has been split over who should ultimately win Asta’s heart. The official narrative has leaned toward Noelle Silva, the fiery noblewoman filled with pride, whose tsundere arc transformed her from haughty critic to devoted ally.

Even as Noelle’s character development earned her legions of supporters, there has always been a quiet but passionate faction of fans rooting for Mimosa Vermillion.

Now, with the latest Black Clover manga chapters, 381 through 383, her unwavering devotion to Asta has once again taken center stage, proving she is far more than just a background healer.

In fact, her actions in these pivotal moments not only rekindle the shipping debate but also highlight why she has been a steadfast presence in Asta’s life from the beginning.

The shipping conversation wouldn’t be as heated right now without the dramatic battlefield backdrop. The final arc has thrown everyone into chaos, and chapters 381–383 offer some of the most intense sequences in recent memory.

Chapter 381: The ultimate mage

While Yuno takes on Lucius in a star-and-anti-magic-infused duel, we catch up with Mimosa, who finds herself beside an unconscious Asta. Her ultimate healing magic is the only thing that can restore him, but she is low on mana. Using all her magic on Asta would mean abandoning everyone else in need a decision that weighs heavily on her.

The surrounding citizens and Magic Knights urge her to heal him, insisting that Asta is their best hope against Lucius. She agrees, but before she can act Morris appears, intending to erase Asta as “the flaw” in Lucius’ perfect world.

Just as things look grim, the Diamond Kingdom’s key figures - Mars, Ladros, Fana, Fanzell, Domina, Mariella, and Lotus - arrive to protect Asta. Mars declares that Asta is not a flaw but his friend. For longtime fans, this return of former enemies-turned-allies is both nostalgic and a thematic reinforcement of Asta’s ability to change hearts.

Chapter 382: Those who were once enemies

Mimosa is initially wary when the Diamond Kingdom crew arrives, but Fanzell reassures her they are allies now. They engage Morris in battle, giving her the chance to focus on healing.

This chapter of Black Clover also brings another surprise: Feremena, the Earth Spirit host and last of the Eight Shining Generals, steps into the fray. The fight against Morris becomes a multi-front clash, with everyone, even old foes, united in purpose.

Meanwhile, the Magical Tool Research Lab crew, including Sally, Rades, Valtos, and Makusa, deploys anti-magic ammunition developed from studying Asta’s magicless body. It temporarily nullifies magic and allows Rades to trap the angels’ souls. The elves, led by Patry, also arrive, with Rhya vowing to protect humans this time.

It is in this moment, surrounded by allies who were once enemies, that Mimosa reflects on how Asta inspires such loyalty. Her quiet admiration becomes part of the chapter’s emotional core.

The spotlight shifts again between the Yuno-Lucius duel and Mimosa’s desperate healing. Kirsch, Langris, and Leo form a protective barrier around her and Asta, holding off Lucius’ regenerating angels.

Mimosa in Black Clover begins to falter, doubting whether she can finish in time, until Finral and Charmy arrive. Charmy offers her food to replenish her mana, allowing Mimosa to finally unleash her ultimate healing magic.

Asta wakes with his signature fiery resolve, immediately declaring,

“Just wait for me, Lucius!”

This triumphant moment wouldn’t have been possible without Mimosa’s tireless commitment, cementing her as one of the unsung heroes of the final arc.

Why did this change the romance conversation in Black Clover?

These chapters in Black Clover don’t show Mimosa confessing outright, but they don’t need to. Her actions speak more clearly than words. She is willing to drain every last drop of her magic to bring Asta back, even when doing so risks the lives of others she could help. The hesitation is not about doubting Asta’s worth, it is about her deep-seated belief in protecting everyone.

Compare this to Noelle, whose affection often manifests through indirect acts and guarded comments. Noelle’s arc is about breaking down her walls. Mimosa’s is about quietly holding the line, offering comfort without needing to be asked.

In these high-stakes chapters, Mimosa doesn’t crack under pressure or hide behind pride. She doesn’t worry about how she would look or whether her feelings are obvious. She simply acts, and in Black Clover, action is the purest form of love.
