Bleach TYBW part 4: Everything we know so far

After nearly a decade of radio silence, Bleach came back swinging with the Thousand-Year Blood War (TYBW) arc, with Bleach TYBW part 4 set to be the final installment in the long-running franchise.

And let's be honest about one thing - whether you were a loyal fan who never gave up hope of the show's return or someone who jumped on the hype train once the flashy trailers broke the Internet, the return was satisfying and totally worth the wait.

And now, here we are, on the cusp of Bleach TYBW part 4, which is officially the final cour as well as the definite conclusion to the series. With that being said, let's break down what we know so far, and what we can expect from Part 4.

When is Bleach TYBW part 4 coming out?

First things first - Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War part 4, titled "The Calamity", is the final part of the anime adaptation and is currently scheduled to premiere sometime in 2026, as confirmed by the anime's official website.

An official release date hasn't been confirmed yet, and the 2026 release window is a slight delay from the initially anticipated 2025 release. Now, while this may have disappointed many, it's better to give Studio Pierrot and Tite Kubo all the time they need to provide a satisfying conclusion to the latter's magnum opus.

It's also worth noting that this release will likely follow the same cour format. This means that you can expect around 12-13 episodes packed with top-tier animation, fast pacing, memorable action sequences, and hopefully some closure. The last three parts of the TYBW arc have aired roughly a year apart each, so the timeline more or less lines up.

As for what we have seen of the upcoming part 4 so far, a brand new key visual was unveiled at the recent Anime Expo 2025.

Alongside the visual, there was also commentary from Tite Kubo and Director Hikaru Murata, with the latter summing up the final cour in just one word - "Bankai!". And if his words are any indication, expect more epic power-ups and full-circle payoffs.

Lastly, both Kubo and Studio Pierrot's newer team (aka Pierrot Films) promised even more anime-original content than before - content that never fit into the manga's rushed ending.

What Bleach TYBW part 4 will cover

Given that the third part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime ended at chapter 656 of Kubo's original manga, it leaves about 30 chapters to cram into the 12-13 episodes of the upcoming part 4.

While that may be a bit concerning for some, it has been confirmed by the anime's production staff that Kubo will be adding some anime-original content into the upcoming part 4 - stuff that he wasn't able to include in the manga's original ending.

As such, fans are hoping that Kubo makes good on his promise of delivering a satisfying finale that ties up Ichigo's journey, delivers epic Bankai transformations, and gives justice to beloved characters like Uryu, Rukia, Renji, and even Aizen.

Moreover, fans are also expecting the anime-original scenes in Bleach TYBW part 4 to add some much-needed context and avoid the manga's rushed epilogue.
