Chapter 219 is titled The Bereft, and it was a Fujimoto special as it balanced brutality in the most poetic sense. It started with Pochita fighting against Yoru and Death, but Yoru had enough strength to shoot at him. Then we see the vibe shift as Denji and Asa take over the chapter. Asa is visibly shaken by the fact that Denji did not utilize the opening she created to defeat Yoru.

Now, all hope is lost, and she is feeling hopeless as there is no way, according to her, that she could save Denji. But, at this point in the story, we see Denji's character develop as he tells her it was Pochita who did this and not him, and it is a message. He continues to explain, and he does not want to choose Yoru or Death Devils' philosophy, but make a third option and offer Asa to join his dream. Fujimoto, in this panel, makes him look his age and not a young boy to signify that he has indeed grown up.

Meanwhile, Yoru takes the opportunity to save Death Devil and uses her to fight against Chainsaw Man. She starts transforming her into Death Sword, but her plan comes to a fast halt as Pochita ends up devouring the Death Devil. This single act changed everything. If Death truly no longer exists, the consequences are staggering: no one can die, but pain and suffering remain.

Yoru is enraged by watching her sister get eaten and screams at Chainsaw Man, and the chapter comes to its conclusion. But this was an important chapter since Part 2 of Chainsaw Man started, as it feels like the protagonist has a chance to get an ending he deserves, as throughout the story, there is a visible emotional maturity in his character.

What to expect from Chainsaw Man Chapter 220? (Speculative)

In Chainsaw Man Chapter 220, the creator might address the consequence of Death Devil being erased from their world. Fans have been theorizing that if Death does not exist, then the balance of the world would be in chaos. Everyone could feel pain and suffering, but no one would die. Some fans on Reddit theorize that Death’s absence in Chainsaw Man Chapter 220 might cause reality itself to warp, which could lead to a chaotic but temporary peace where immortality is more curse than gift.

Your reaction will also be a central focus in Chainsaw Man Chapter 220. Having lost her sister and failed to claim superiority, her next move will be unpredictable. On the other hand, Pochita’s actions suggest he’s trying to prevent both Yoru and Death from tipping the balance too far, keeping Denji’s wish for a “normal life” alive, at least for now.

Fans also feel that with Chainsaw Man Chapter 220, Fujimoto is creating an arc where he could bridge the story for Chainsaw Man Part 3. Maybe Denji's wish to create his own world could be the very foundation for a new part. This is an idea that mirrors how Part 1 ended and Part 2 began, both marked by Denji’s evolving understanding of what a “normal life” truly means.
