The narrative centers on 17-year-old Iroha Sakayori, a high school student in Tokyo balancing part-time employment and coursework. She watches well-known streamer Yachiyo Runami in the virtual world Tsukuyomi, where she finds serenity. One day, Iroha finds a telephone pole that is lit in odd hues. A baby comes out of it.

Iroha brings the baby home since she is unable to leave her behind. The infant quickly develops into Kaguya, a girl of her own age. When Kaguya takes on a brazen personality and requests Iroha to assist her in becoming a streamer in Tsukuyomi, the plot of Cosmic Princess Kaguya! becomes even more intriguing.

Kaguya, the singer and streamer, and Iroha, the producer and songwriter, develop a close relationship. However, there is a catch. Kaguya is being pulled back to the moon by evil forces.

The movie is to be 143 minutes long (2 hours and 23 minutes). The story is of the fantasy genre with a theme of music.

With this project, Shingo Yamashita is directing his first feature picture. If his name seems familiar, it is because he has helmed some of the most breathtaking opening scenes in anime. We are discussing Naruto, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Urusei Yatsura. The dude is skilled at producing visually striking content.

Yamashita's Studio Chromato and Studio Colorido are in charge of production. With movies like Burn the Witch, Penguin Highway, and Pokémon: Twilight Wings, Colorido has a strong track record. Two gifted artists create the character designs. Akihiro Nagae (Drifting Home) created the realistic character design, while Hechima created the characters for the tsukuyomi character design.

In a statement, Yamashita expressed his enthusiasm for the movie. He claimed that he put all of his knowledge of visual expression into this, his first full-length original animated film. Additionally, he expressed his passion for online culture, which dates back to the 1990s. Cosmic Princess Kaguya! is designed to be an enjoyable and lively experience.

Kaguya is voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi (Sasha Necron from The Misfit of Demon King Academy). Iroha Sakayori is voiced by Anna Nagase (Ushio Kofune from Summertime Render). Yachiyo Runami is brought to life by Saori Hayami. Having voiced Shinobu Kochou in Demon Slayer and Yor Forger in Spy x Family, Hayami is well-known in the anime community. Fushi is voiced by Rie Kugimiya (Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist), and Sarasa Shouji voices Inudoge.

The music scene

Music plays a huge role in this film. The soundtrack features work from top Vocaloid producers. These include Ryo from Supercell, kz from Livetune, 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and Yuigot. If you are into Hatsune Miku and Vocaloid culture, you're going to love this.

The key theme song is called Ex-Otogibanashi, which translates to Ex-Fairy Tale. Saori Hayami performs it as her character Yachiyo. The song was composed by Ryo, who created the famous Hatsune Miku hit Melt.
