Demon Slayer disappoints fans with Jump Festa 2026 stage

After the major success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1, fans had high hopes that this series might release major news during their time in Jump Festa 2026. They opened for the Super Stage on Day 2 of the event, but fans felt completely underwhelmed by the news that was released. The fandom had high expectations from the event because events like this are a perfect opportunity for a franchise to reveal major news.

And a franchise like Demon Slayer, which is seen as a strong pillar for Shueisha and Ufotable, fans were at least looking forward to getting something as small as a key visual, a teaser. The stage opened with an explosive entrance by four major voice actors: Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), Saori Hayami (Shinobu Kocho), and Takahiro Sakurai (Giyuu Tomioka).

Their arrival immediately caught everyone's attention because they entered with great enthusiasm and also did a small crowdwork to get everyone hyped. The way in which the cast greeted fans enthusiastically, and for a moment, felt like something big was definitely going to be announced. Unfortunately, that excitement didn’t translate into meaningful news.

Instead of unveiling new anime content, the Demon Slayer panel focused largely on material fans were already familiar with. The cast spoke at length about the currently running Infinity Castle Part 1 movie, which has remained in theaters throughout 2025.

For now, it seems like Ufotable will be taking some more time before we have any other news about Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2. This could be a deliberate move on their part because they want fans to go and watch the first part in theaters. At the very least, fans just wanted some confirmation regarding the film, but it is understandable why, even after getting into the Super Stage of Jump Festa, the production team decided to withhold giving any crucial information. The best we can now do is wait for Ufotable to release the news soon; meanwhile, Demon Slayer is available to watch on multiple streaming platforms like Crunchyroll and Netflix.
