Ufotabel added anime-original scenes only during the Hashira Training arc.

The Hashira Training arc had very little content in the manga, and the animation studio decided to improvise. Furthermore, the sheer quality of animation was unparalleled. It set an exceptionally high bar for viewers. They no longer expect mediocre work from animation studios, and Ufotable showed us their capabilities. A studio like this has the potential to take a show with a plot to new levels.
