Dr. Stone is ready for the release of Season 4 Part 2 in July 2025. It's the perfect moment to look back and reflect on how far Senku and his friends have come in their mission to rebuild civilization with the power of science. In this article, we will explore everything that has happened so far as a refresher before the viewer starts with the new season.

Season 1 of Dr. Stone starts when a bright green light flashes across the globe, petrifying every human on Earth in an instant. After being petrified for thousands of years, Senku frees himself, and the first thing he does is awaken his friend Taiju from his petrified state. Senku’s ultimate goal is clear: rebuild human civilization from scratch, guided by the power of science.

Both of them decide to revive Tsukasa Shishio, but he rejects Senku’s vision of restoring science and civilization as they once were. He becomes the primary antagonist of the series and leaves them to form the Empire of Might. Meanwhile, Senku focuses on his Kingdom of Science. As Senku and Taiju need to flee from Tsukasa, they come across a village inhabited by humans who were never petrified. Both of them gain allies and plan their next move.

Season 2 of Dr. Stone, known as the Stone Wars, focuses completely on the coming battle between Senku’s Kingdom of Science and Tsukasa’s Empire of Might. Senku is the first one to come up with a non-violent plan. He creates phones to allow long-distance communication and devises clever psychological tactics to confuse Tsukasa’s forces.

Things were not smooth sailing with Tsukasa as his top lieutenant; Hyoga in Dr. Stone had a different ideology. He believed in survival of the fittest and a climactic battle. Hyoga betrays Tsukasa and critically wounds him. In a surprising turn, Senku saves Tsukasa in a chamber, hoping that one day the petrification’s healing properties can restore him.

Season 3 of Dr. Stone begins with the construction of the Perseus, a ship designed to take Senku and his team across the ocean. They need to build this to reach South America. During this season, they come across various obstacles, the most important of them all being finding petroleum. Senku also developed GPS and sonar, and for the first time, Why Man reached out to them.

Seku’s team eventually finishes making the ship, and the selected few characters arrive at a place called Treasure Island, a location tied to Senku’s father, Byakuya. They discover another society apart from them residing on that island, with a mysterious enemy who uses the petrification weapon itself. The Kingdom of Science is forced to confront the true scope of its adversaries. They learn that the petrification device can be activated by voice commands.

After finding the material Senku needed to mass-produce revival fluid, they head out to South America, and this is the start of Season 4, Part 1 of Dr. Stone. Senku faces intellectual rivalry from Dr. Xeno, a former NASA scientist revived in America.

Unlike Tsukasa’s brute ideology, Xeno in Dr. Stone matches Senku's genius but seeks to dominate the world through technological superiority. By the end of this season, Senku and a handful of others escape with Dr. Xeno to build a rocket with the aim of fighting against the Why Man.

As we know, in Season 4 Part 1 of Dr. Stone, Senku and his team travel to South America while trying to uncover the mystery of Why Man. Part 2 is expected to cover the final arc of the manga, which includes The Truth of the Petrification and The Moon Mission. The final confrontation may take place on the moon.

To sum it up, viewers will witness the building of a space shuttle by Senku to reach the Why-Man’s origin point. And finally get an answer to the question: What does it mean to be human in a world that had to start over from zero? And whether Senku and his friends can finally succeed in restoring civilization in Dr.Stone.
