Part 2 of Dr. Stone season 4 is here, and it picks up right after the events of Senku kidnapping Xeno as they are on the way to South America and find the mystery behind the petrification. The next episode is set to be released on 17th July, 2025, the continuation of this cerebral sci-fi shonen is setting the tone for the Moon Mission arc.
As of now, viewers are closer than ever to finding the truth behind the Why Man. With global exploration, alliances forged through intellect, and the looming presence of the Moon, Dr. Stone is ramping up toward a thrilling climax.
Episode 13 of Dr. Stone starts with a flashback of Xeno as a child and how he became friends with Stanley. Despite being a child, he had managed to build a fascinating device which initially attracted Stanley’s attention.
Both of them agreed to be friends, and since then they have been together. This short clip gives us an idea as to why Stanley is so fiercely loyal to Xeno and determined to catch Senku. The episode cuts back to the present, where we are given a small recap of their journey.

It’s here that Xeno finally breaks his silence. After episodes of keeping his guard up, he agrees to collaborate with Senku. While both of them start having a conversation, the situation on Stanley's side is not very peaceful.
Matsukaze is gravely injured and yet he makes his way to Ginro, who was hiding on the ship. Although he is caught by Stanley and tied up, they try to get some information about Senku and where he is heading next.
When Matsukaze refused to give that information out, he pulled out a gun to kill him. Just then, Ginro popped out of hiding and, in a desperate attempt to save his friend, he gave away the location.
This means that Stanley now knows the location and will start his journey to catch up and bring back Xeno. It's a heartbreaking but noble moment that adds layers to a character who rarely takes the spotlight.

Now en route to South America, Senku plays a recording of his father's voice, which gives all the information Xeno needed to know about the petrification. He's deeply moved by Byakuya's forethought, his decision to send messages and preserve knowledge for future generations.
At the end of the episode, Senku and Xeno are able to narrow down the possible origin point of the beam with incredible precision. This is the first real breakthrough in a long time, and fans are finally getting the big clue they've been waiting for. Ending on a cliffhanger, the episode leaves fans eagerly waiting for more revelations next week.
Review of Dr. Stone season 4 episode 13

Starting with what was good about this episode, the production house stayed true to this color palette. It is vibrant, and the character design is maintained. However, the overall animation feels underwhelming.
While the static shots and occasional camera pans can work for dialogue-heavy scenes, this episode clearly suffers from a lack of fluidity. For instance, when characters are actively speaking a dialogue, only their lips are moving, and the rest of their body is static.
Without dynamic expressions or body language, these scenes lose some of their potential impact. It’s a letdown, especially for a show that has previously delivered some visually striking sequences.
Final thoughts
Despite the lack of fluid animation, episode 13 of Dr. Stone continues to deliver one of the biggest hints when it comes to unravelling the mystery of petrification. Episode 13 might not have the flashiest animation or action-packed moments, but it sets the chessboard perfectly for what’s to come.
If the show can tighten its visuals and capitalize on the growing emotional tension, the remainder of Season 4 of Dr. Stone is poised to be one of the most satisfying arcs yet.
