One Piece by Eiichiro Oda has been delivering a story about pirates who seem to be on a legendary adventure to find the treasure left by Rogers. But before this new generation of pirates came into the picture, there were intensive backstories about those who were before them. Fans are heavily invested in knowing about two legends: Gol D. Roger and Rocks D. Xebec. Their story in One Piece is often reflected as opposites, but if we take a deeper look and place them side by side, their deaths reveal a haunting symmetry.

It is almost like two mirrors reflecting two very different fates. One death became the spark for a new era; the other was swallowed by the sea and nearly forgotten. These parallels by Eiichiro Oda do not seem like a coincidence; fans believe that these are fascinating details that the creator deliberately made narrative choices that shape the very foundation of One Piece’s history.

Roger’s death is something no one can forget. During these final moments, it seems like he chose to end up like that. He was in Logueton, where he was about to be executed. Interestingly, he lost his life at the same place where it all began. This can be interpreted as Eiichiro Oda trying to say that the weakest part of the sea is the birthplace of a strong personality, and no one should be judged by where they come from.

As we know that Roger was sick and was going to die anyway. So when he was being executed, it seemed like it was going according to his plan. He smiled as the blade came down, delivering a final message to the world that fast-tracked the current timeline in the world of One Piece. The world's that confirmed that the One Piece treasure is real and whoever finds it first will have everything sent shockwaves around the world. His death became a spectacle witnessed by thousands, and his final words turned him into a myth that would never fade.

Meanwhile, if we were to talk about Rocks D. Xebec's death, it is chilling. While Roger's final moment made him unforgettable, Xebec's name was buried deep in history, with only a few people who knew about his existence and the events that led up to his losing his life. Even though he died in his homeland, it is confirmed in One Piece Chapter 1166 that Garling landed the final blow that ultimately killed Xebec. His death was a moment of complete loss as he was stripped of control, tears replacing the smile Roger proudly wore. Fans now joke about him ending up in Davy Jones’s locker, but the truth is far more somber: he was erased.

Many civilians got inspired by Rogers' speech about getting his treasure, which caused the great pirate era to start. It also influenced Luffy, the protagonist of the show, to become a pirate. Meanwhile, the World Government did everything possible to bury Rocks’ memory; it was like his name vanished from records, his story was suppressed, and even seasoned marines barely remembered him.

As the series enters its final saga, the parallels between Rocks and Roger matter more than ever. In this story, Roger once said that a person dies when they are forgotten. Maybe that is why he planned to die in the most extravagant manner, which would not be forgotten by anyone. Rocks in this story were erased but never fully lost, only to return as a silent force shaping the chaos to come. In the end, Eiichiro Oda once again reminds us: in One Piece, even the dead are still moving the story forward.
