Everything we know about Zalama in Dragon Ball

The Dragon Ball series has brought us one powerful character after another, but Zalama is the most mysterious and interesting. This character has been a legend for the longest time. While there are others like Zeno, Grand Priest, and Beerus who are important to the story, Zalama is in a different class.

It is said that Zalama is the one who created the Super Dragon Balls, and it’s worth noting that this character has not appeared in the story yet. And the Dragon Ball he created has no limit on what wish it can grant.

These balls are scattered across Universe 6 and Universe 7 and have the power to grant literally any wish. While Shenron, the dragon on Earth, has limitations and restrictions, Porunga, the Namekian dragon, has fewer in comparison, but they all fall short in comparison to Super Dragon Balls.

This suggests that Zalama had the knowledge of, or access to, the entire multiverse when he crafted them. Another interesting detail about him and his construction is how he made sure the only way to activate these balls was by using the language of the gods.

This heavily implies that he also might have known the ancient language, or possibly Zalama could have invented it in the first place. Even though fans do not see him on screen, his presence at events is undeniable.

For instance, in the Tournament of Power, the strongest characters from respective universes decided to participate, and they were motivated to win the Super Dragon Balls as the ultimate prize. This incentive to win was on such a large scale that no man or god would give up on this chance.

The fact that a single being, Zalama, was responsible for creating such artifacts makes him arguably one of the most important figures in the franchise’s mythos. Some fans speculate that Zalama may be a counterpart or predecessor to Zeno, though this has never been confirmed in canon.

Because Zeno is the destroyer of the universe, he sits at the top of the hierarchy of the franchise. Meanwhile, Zalama is the creator of an ultimate power everyone is tempted to get their hands on.

That is why there is a popular fan theory that Zalama is maybe the Dragon God. And that is why many viewers believe that he could possibly make an appearance one day with an important role. This makes sense because it would give the importance this character deserves.

Why is Zalama kept as a mystery in Dragon Ball?

It’s unusual for Dragon Ball to introduce a being of such immense power and importance and then leave them in the background. But that’s precisely what’s happened with Zalama. This adds to his allure; he’s not just another powerful fighter or flashy god.

He’s a being of myth, a name whispered by those who know the history of the universe. And because we know so little, fans continue to theorize about who or what he really is.

However, the series has always separated physical power from narrative power. It’s possible that Zalama isn’t a fighter at all, but a divine architect, a cosmic scientist whose power lies in creation, not destruction. That would make him unique in a franchise that often focuses on combat prowess.

In conclusion, Zalama is one of the biggest mysteries in the Dragon Ball franchise. While it is proven that he has shaped the narrative, fans have been waiting for the day they get to see this character on screen. But until then, he is the unseen architect watching his greatest creation.
