One-Punch Man season 2 is one of the most talked-about parts of the anime. It changed how fans saw the story. The season didn't just focus on Saitama being super strong. It brought in bigger villains, gave characters more depth, and introduced the dangerous Monster Association.

One-Punch Man season 3 will be adapting one of the most exciting and action-packed parts in the manga. This is a perfect opportunity to recap the previous season and get ready for who and what is coming.

Looking back, season 1 introduced us to Saitama with hair. This version of him was unemployed and struggled against a monster named Crablante. And then we meet the Saitama we all know and love. A man who trained so hard that he could defeat anyone with a single punch.

The comedy of his ridiculous strength, combined with Madhouse’s top-tier animation, made season 1 an instant hit. The animation when he fought the Subterraneans in his dream made the show attract shonen fans very quickly. We saw him meet Genos when he was fighting Mosquito Girl. Ending the fight with one slap was a meme for months. Saitama also faced enemies like the Deep Sea King. The final fight with Boros was amazing because Saitama actually had to try a little bit.

What happened in One-Punch Man season 2?

One-Punch Man season 2 changed things right away. Instead of only following Saitama's daily life, it showed the Hero Association and its struggles. The season also introduced Garou, the Hero Hunter, who quickly became a fan favorite.

Once a student of Bang, Garou turned against the heroes and declared war on them. His reasoning was unique: He thought heroes were unfair and wanted to defend monsters, flipping the usual roles on their heads. This made Garou more than just another villain. He became a menace with a clear philosophy, one who would continue to shape events in One-Punch Man season 3.

Garou’s rise was the highlight of One-Punch Man season 2. We saw him take down Class A and B heroes with ease, even when outnumbered. Unlike other villains, he adapted quickly, learning in each fight and coming back stronger. His battles against Tank-Top Master, Metal Bat, Watchdog Man, and even Genos proved how dangerous he was becoming.

And then he went up against the old men of the series (Bang and Bomb). Unfortunately, he was no match for them, and he had to be ‘helicopter-rescued’ by Phoenix Man.

But Garou wasn’t the only focus of One-Punch Man season 2. The season also pulled back the curtain on the Hero Association itself. We were introduced to more S-Class heroes, including King, who was both funny and mysterious. While most people thought he was the “strongest man alive,” fans learned his real strength was his incredible luck and timing.

Genos also got more screen time in One-Punch Man season 2, with constant upgrades as he fought tougher enemies. And with the Monster Association starting to stir, the cracks in the Hero Association were beginning to show. Fubuki and her Blizzard Group were also introduced properly. Then, there was the Super Fight tournament. Fans were introduced to Suiryu, Bakuzan, Lightning Max, and more. The tournament itself was a lot of fun, with Saitama doing his best to keep his wig on.

One-Punch Man season 2 also focused a lot on the monsters. They became more organized, stronger, and more dangerous than before. We see plenty of new monsters like Senior Centipede, Junior Centipede, Venus Mantrap, Rhino Wrestler, Phoenix Man, and Sludge Jellyfish. These weren’t the random creatures from season 1, but were serious threats that even high-ranking heroes struggled against.

The Monster Association launched a bold move in One-Punch Man season 2. They kidnapped a child named Waganma, the son of Narinki, a top Hero Association official. This wasn’t just a crime. It was a war declaration. The heroes had to fight back, setting up a huge battle between the strongest heroes and the most dangerous monsters.

For manga readers, the pacing of the anime makes sense. Season 1 covered up to chapter 37, ending with Boros. It started with the Saitama Introduction arc and covered interesting arcs like the National Superhero Registry arc and the Sea Monster arc. One-Punch Man season 2 picked up at chapter 38 and stretched into the early 80s, introducing Garou and the beginning of the Garou Introduction Arc. It ended in the middle of the Monster Association arc.

That means One-Punch Man season 3 will be adapting manga chapters 86 through 175, covering the entire Monster Association arc. This arc is viewed as one of the best in the series. It also had many incredible battles with Garou vs. Royal Ripper and Bug God, Flashy Flash vs. Gale Wind and Hellfire Flame, Tatsumaki vs. Evil Eye, Saitama vs. Garou, etc., to name a few.

What is coming in One-Punch Man season 3?

So, what is coming in One-Punch Man season 3? The main event is the all-out war between the Hero Association and the Monster Association. Fans will finally see the full lineup of S-Class heroes in action, including Tatsumaki, Atomic Samurai, Bang, and more. Their battles against Dragon-level threats will push them to their limits.

And in the middle of all this, Garou’s transformation continues, as his constant evolution brings him closer to becoming something beyond human. He attains different levels of transformation, like the Half-Monster Garou, Spiral Garou, and Cosmic Fear Garou. His fights with Bang (his old teacher) and Saitama are the best parts of the story.

One-Punch Man season 3 will also have massive, chaotic battles. If done right, these could be some of the biggest fights in anime. Whole cities will crumble, and heroes will be tested like never before. The Monster Association will also show just how terrifying its strongest members really are.

One-Punch Man season 2 may not have had as much Saitama at the center, but it was never meant to. It was about building up Garou, and it sets the stage for the Monster Association. All of those stories pay off in One-Punch Man season 3 as it all comes together in one of the most explosive arcs in the manga.

Conclusion

One-Punch Man season 2 was mostly setup, and that is now poised to explode. They show Garou's power as a menace, the potential problems for the Hero Association, and the hints of a monster uprising that could change everything. Season 3 is approaching, and fans can look forward to an ancient struggle, a surprising turn, and an unforgettable fictional character's time.
