Gachiakuta: Is Gris dead?

Gachiakuta is one of the most popular anime this season, captivating viewers with its fascinating world of trash. The series introduces a plethora of memorable characters, and among them, Gris Rubion stands out. Despite being a Supporter with no special powers, Gris is a formidable fighter with immense physical strength.

Notably, Rudo shares a very close bond with him. When the protagonist was feeling down in the dumps after failing to contribute in a battle against Trash Beasts, Gris helped raise his spirits and encouraged him to look toward the future. Due to this, fans were shocked in the latest episode of the anime when Gris suffered a seemingly fatal injury, leaving many to wonder whether this really marks his end.

No, Gris is not dead in Gachiakuta, and he makes a perfect recovery after his battle against Jabber Wonger thanks to the Cleaners’ healer, Eishia Stilza.

Gris’ fate in Gachiakuta

In Gachiakuta episode 6, the Cleaners were led into a trap by the Raiders, resulting in them facing off against the dangerous antagonist, Jabber Wonger. Zanka chose to face him alone while the Supporters escaped, but he was swiftly beaten. Soon after, Gris, Follo, and Rudo were forced to confront him.

As the senior of the group, Gris immediately stepped up, voicing his resolve to protect the group. However, before anyone could comprehend what had happened, Jabber Wonger immediately stabbed him with his claws and declared that he was dead.

This enraged Rudo, leading him to turn Gris’ amulet into a Vital Instrument and engage in an intense battle against the Raider. Although Jabber had expressed that Gris had already passed, he was still clinging to life, with his injury being tended to by Follo. During the protagonist's fight, he even managed to weakly praise Rudo’s growth.

Gris’ next appearance came after the battle between Rudo and Jabber, which was interrupted by the rest of the Cleaners’ crew. While being carried out by his allies, Rudo shared his regret for having broken his treasured amulet. Nevertheless, the Supporter comforted him, saying he was glad it was of use.

Following this, Rudo was depressed for a considerable period since he had assumed that Gris had died and that he had failed to protect those around him yet again. Due to the protagonist’s reaction as well as Jabber’s statement, fans may be under the assumption that Gris’ injuries were far too severe to treat, even though he was able to stay conscious for a while.

Thankfully, this is not the case, as it is revealed that despite being stabbed through the chest, Gris manages to survive due to Eishia’s Vital Instrument, Type: Heal. This makes for a heartwarming reunion between the protagonist and his friend, while also motivating Rudo to continue growing stronger.
