Recap of Chapter 9

Chapter 9 gave a conclusion to the story of Dura, the mentor of Maru and Cross. It was most probably the most lore-heavy and emotionally powerful plot in all of Modulo. The story picked up with the Rumelians panicking about Deskunte taking over their land. The only way to escape from homelessness is to send their strongest fighter.

When the day of the battle comes, Dura needs to fight against Dabura. Turns out, the Deskunte had his sister as a hostage because they knew Dabura would not be willing to fight against his friend. This battle did not last for long, and Dura was killed.

But before this happened, Dura revealed that the so-called Holy War was just under the pretext of mining for a rare crystal, which fuels cursed energy. He continued to urge everyone to “accept us as your neighbors,” pleading for unity across tribes rather than endless cycles of war and greed. His death, symbolized by tears from his third eye, became a spiritual awakening for the Romelians.

The chapter ends with Dabura promising to protect Rumelians, showing everyone the final gift left by Dura. Turns out he had left many of those rare crystals that Maru and Crossed used to help everyone escape from their planet. This act, born from harmony and brotherhood, carried Dura’s message beyond death: that cooperation, not conflict, is the key to survival.

What to expect from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 10? (Speculative)

After such a monumental conclusion, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 10 is expected to continue the story from the POV of the Rumelians and their journey towards finding a new home.
