Jabalomba’s confrontation and the fragile alliance

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 12 starts with Jabalomba confronting Usami, questioning whether the sorcerers were responsible for killing Kalyan in Tokyo. The accusation immediately sets the tone: Thin trust, rising suspicion, and the shaky foundation of coexistence. Before the conversation goes into a massive misunderstanding that could cause irreparable damage, the chapter shifts to focus on Yuka, Maru, and Tsurugi.
The trio is traveling through Japan, ensuring that the talismans that repel Cursed Spirits are functioning correctly. Tsurugi explains in this chapter that Cursed Spirits have grown so concentrated in Tokyo that sorcerers must perform a “Great Exorcism” twice a year to prevent them from spilling out across the country.
Tokyo is overrun by curses and a disturbing discovery

This calm moment between the trio is interrupted by chaos in Tokyo. The city is completely swarmed by Cursed Spirits, and two sorcerers are working to exorcise them. One of them, Yakumaru, notices that the spirits seem to be drawn to one specific building. When he goes inside, he sees Oski, who is a Simurian, talking to a Cursed Spirit, a disturbing scene that immediately raises red flags.
After getting information about this event, Usami in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 12 realizes that maybe Kalyans are not Cursed Spirits; they share important similarities.
Misunderstandings explode into violence in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 12

But it is already too late. Yakumaru was never into the idea of trusting the Simurians (it has been established in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 10), and he attacks them as he feels like they are coming in between the Great Exorcism. Usami steps in using Cursed Speech, trying to calm both sides. Eventually, tempers cool, and Usami and Jabalomba even exchange apologies.
Meanwhile, Yuka, Maru, and Tsurugi finish their talisman inspection. Maru in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 12 suggests that maybe the Simurians could help with future Great Exorcisms, a line that now reads like tragic irony. They agree to meet again tomorrow, unaware that tomorrow may never come.
Yakumaru shoots Cross, and trust is completely shattered

The most shocking event in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 12 happened when Yakumaru pulled out his gun and shot Cross. Not once but twice in the chest. This is extremely shocking, as we know Cross had finally been opening up. Some leaks suggest that Yakumaru shot Cross because he felt that Cross was reaching for a sword and interpreted that actions as an active threat. Now we are not sure what would happen to Cross, and if he does not pull through, then the consequences could be catastrophic.
Dabura arrives: A special grade enters the battlefield

As both sides prepare to fight and all diplomatic progress collapses, the chapter reaches its climax. Dabura makes an appearance. The narration in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 12 teases this moment with the phrase “the Special Grade comes,” confirming that Dabura is truly on the level of a Special Grade sorcerer, an indication of how catastrophic the upcoming battle could be. There is no break next week, so fans will have to wait to see who this special grade person is. It could just be Dabura or Itadori Yuji finally making an appearance.
