Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14 are out, and it is undoubtedly one of the most intense installments so far. Although in the last few chapters, it seems like Gege Akutami is focusing on building the story in the form of an emotional roller-coaster. Especially since we got the flashback about the Simurians, the narrative showed us slow-burning character exploration and a rise in political tension.
According to the spoilers, it seems like we are getting more painful revelations around Maru, Cross, and the fate of humanity. It is important to note that these translations are rough, and while they capture the essence of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14, it is recommended to wait for the official release to get better clarity.
Although even with the unclear wording, this chapter is clearly building toward a massive turning point in the Modulo storyline.

The higher-ups’ plan and cold logic

According to the spoilers, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14 dives immediately into a discussion between the higher-ups, Mino, and the cold, calculating Crazy Eyes. Their conversation centers on one chilling plan: Sending Yuka to fight Dabura despite knowing she has only months left to live.
Crazy Eyes openly admits that Yuka’s short lifespan makes her the most “expendable” option. Their discussion touches briefly on how global powers might react. Could other nations even consider nuking Japan to eliminate the curse threat? The higher-ups scoff at the idea. No one wants to be remembered as the nation that nuked Japan again.
Maru & Cross: A tragic flashback explored in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14

The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14 then shifts into the emotional core: A flashback of young Maru and Cross in a cave, holding the stone given to them after their parents died. This stone was said to be precious, symbolic, yet in a shocking moment, one of them destroys it.
This is to make readers question the meaning behind the stone. It makes one wonder if this was a keepsake item given to these children for them to have a sense of comfort, or if it is supposed to have deeper significance. For now, it seems like Gege Akutami has kept the ambiguity intentional.
But from this scene in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14, what matters is that the stone mirrors the brothers’ broken path, one that leads to regret, conflict, and the moment that changed everything in the story. We are talking about Dura’s death. As we see that Maru ran without thinking about the consequences to save Dura after he fell to Dabura.
Cross drags him back, knowing a reckless move would get them both executed. Dabura quietly apologizes, as even then, he claims he never intended to hurt anyone. This is important because back then, it was clear that he did not want to cause trouble, and yet this scene ends up reinforcing the tragedy behind the current conflict.
Maru’s isolation and Tsurugi's realization

After this flashback, we are shown Maru sitting by himself and reminiscing about his time with Cross. He just wants to be back with his brother, and for now, all that we still know about Cross's condition is that he is still in a critical state.
Tsurugi in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14 makes an appearance and is shown to be walking around the ship and analyzing everything. He makes an interesting observation on how the ship’s design reflects this caste divide, even though Maru and Cross were the ones who built it. When Tsurugi finally meets Maru, he understands the truth: Their shared technique is the root of everything from Earth’s invasion, the ship’s arrival, and possibly every tragedy so far.
Yuka marches toward death, and a duel begins

A quick cut in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 14 reveals Yuka boarding a plane, ready to confront Dabura despite having only three months left. She sees this as her chance to make her life meaningful. Meaning Tsurugi refuses to accept it, and he draws his sword and declares he will end this duel today.
As a brother, he will not allow Yuka’s death to happen now and wants her to have whatever life is left to her fullest. Maru counters, explaining his people have nowhere else to go, nothing left to lose. Then the final double-page spread hits: Tsurugi vs. Maru. Swords drawn. Weapons clash, and this may be the first true duel of the Jujustu Kaisen Modulo storyline.
