After an emotional backstory of Cross and Maru, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9 is prepared to be released soon. The story has taken a different path from the main storyline and focused on showing its fans the emotional flashback of the Sumerian twin brothers and their life before they came to Earth.

As the story shows us, Cross and Maru, as children on the planet of Samuria before it was destroyed, became the central figures of the story. Moreover, we were introduced to another overpowered character known as Dura. He was convinced to take care of these twins after they lost their parents.

Dura is shown to be an incredibly strong person, but equally very kind and empathetic. He planned to build a canal that would cause two civilizations to unite. Corss and Maru were put to work with him and help build this canal.

Cross was not on board with this idea as he felt Dura's philosophy was naive, and there was no concept of peace. But his brother Maru was more accepting and open to this idea. Eventually, after a few hiccups, everyone comes around to this idea and helps Dura build the canal.

The chapter was building itself to a wholesome moment where there was hope that everything would be okay, but then tragedy struck that causing the peace treaty to be in jeopardy.

What to expect from Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9? (Speculative)

With Chapter 8 ending on a somber note, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9 is expected to build up on the tension. It seems like the flashback is far from over. If anything, this could be the start of the foundation that shows us how Cross and Maru's trauma shaped the way they approach life and their fate.

Early fan theories also suggest Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 9 will most likely show us the Callian Tragedy, the event that destroyed the alliance between the Romelians and the Disconte.
