Story Synopsis of Kunon the Sorcerer Can See anime

The anime centers on Kunon Gurion, a young man born without sight who harbors an ambitious dream. He aims to achieve the impossible: creating new eyes using water magic. This feat has never been accomplished by any sorcerer before.

He only took five months of study before he made it past his teacher's skills because of how talented he is. Kunon can see colour using his special magic. He can make awesome objects and even create a real-looking cat made of water. He's created a huge name for himself and has now been given the chance to train under the Kingdom's greatest sorceress.

Platinum Vision is producing the project called Kunon the Sorcerer Can See, and is being directed by Hideaki Ōba, who has worked on shows like I'm in Love with the Villainess and Our Dating Story. The series is being written and composed by Yuki Enatsu, while the character designs are being done by Yōko Satō and Toshimitsu Kobayashi. The music will be composed by Shunsuke Takizawa from TRYTONELABO.

Source Material Background

The web novel Kunon the Sorcerer Can See was first published on the Japanese website, Shōsetsuka ni Narō, in August 2021, by the author, Umikaze Minamino, whose work has become so popular that it reached number one on the yearly rankings of that website in August 2022.

In March of 2022, Kadokawa published the very first printed volume of Kunon the Sorcerer Can See, along with artwork by Laruha. Today, there are eight volumes of this series out in Japan.

The manga adaptation by La-na has started to appear monthly in the Magazine Monthly Comic Alive since April 2022. Both Yen Press and an English-speaking audience will be able to read the novels and the manga.

We will continue to anticipate Kunon the Sorcerer Can See until the date of January 4, 2026. With such high-quality production and the creativity of such an experienced team, it’s going to be amazing to see this adaptation come to life.
