Lazarus episode 10 recap

Lazarus episode 10, titled 'I Can't Tell You Why,' begins with a news report revealing the short deadline before Skinner’s declaration comes true, followed by a rapid rise in fever patients across the world. Due to the resulting chaos, the stock markets were crashing, hospitals were overflowing, and those feeling unwell were advised to stay home.

Following this, Team Lazarus had an internal meeting, where the results of the drug Christine found were shared. Doug explained how the pill was a medicine for patients with artificial hearts, and the group believed Skinner could be tracked through his medical records.

When Eleina was unable to find any trace of his artificial heart surgery, Hersch hypothesized that Skinner may have used a discreet hospital exclusive to elites. While the task force was struggling to find a way to access this facility, Leland stepped up, saying he had a way.

Soon after, Leland, accompanied by Axel and Doug, arrived at a lavish estate — his childhood home. The grandness of the location left Axel and Doug in disbelief, though Leland seemed to have painful memories associated with it.

They were then taken inside and met by Leland’s sister, Isabella, who was extremely confrontational toward her brother. When Leland asked her to introduce him to the members-only medical society used by their family, the Astors, she only grew angrier. Isabella began ranting about the family’s policy of having a male heir, to which Leland suggested that she get married and take over the household.

That was Isabella’s final straw, as she started hitting Leland furiously. She scolded him for not becoming the heir simply because he was an illegitimate child, though Leland responded that his now-deceased father had isolated him and never showed up to his mother’s funeral, forcing him to cut ties.

Though Isabella seemed to furiously storm away after, she returned and agreed to introduce Leland to the family’s doctors. She spoke about the white carnation flowers Leland had left at their father’s grave, showing that he did care about his parents. Isabella also added a condition where Leland would spend a weekend with her in exchange for helping him.

Leland accepted, though he explained he'd make time for her after saving the world. Leland, Axel, and Doug then went to the exclusive medical society, where they met Skinner’s doctor, Millie. Meanwhile, Abel and Hersch were viewing footage from the Schiphol Airport Incident, an infamous event in the past where Skinner’s Hapna prototype was released at an airport and killed multiple people.

This was covered up as a terrorist attack, though Skinner visibly changed after the incident, becoming a more distant person. Abel then spoke about how Hapna reappeared half a year after that point in Eyman Prison, where Axel was being held.

The scene then shifted to Leland’s conversation with Millie, who spoke about the artificial heart she gave Skinner. Unfortunately, the data collected from his heart readings were encrypted by the scientist. Though unsure of whether her patient was alive, she gave Leland a file that would lead them to a third party that may have been monitoring Skinner’s heart.

The group then parted, with Leland thanking Millie for her cooperation. Before bidding farewell, Millie told Leland about how much his father cared about him and that he constantly spoke about his son. She also asked Team Lazarus to bring Skinner to her if they caught him, wishing to fulfill her duties as his doctor.

At the end of the day, Leland hoped to confess to Axel and Doug that he was a spy, though they expressed that they didn’t care. Overwhelmed by a flood of emotions, Leland broke down crying and was comforted by Axel. Back at the meeting between Abel and Hersch, Abel explained how Axel was the only survivor of the Hapna experiments at Eyman Prison, directly connecting him to their predicament.

The episode ends with Axel heading over to secure a witness on Hersch’s orders, while Eleina and Doug travel to Pakistan, having decrypted Millie’s file and tracking the party monitoring Skinner’s heart to Islamabad. In a shocking cliffhanger, Millie is revealed to have the fever other Hapna victims have, while Axel is approached by Soryu, the assassin contracted to kill him.
