The episode delivered an Avengers Endgame-style portal scene that had fans yelling at their screens.Deku begins Episode 7, “From Aizawa,” in as bad a place as he could be. Upon breaching Shigaraki's mental landscape with Nana Shimura, Deku sees the awful conditions that turned Tomura Shigaraki into a villain. But the episode took a turn for the worse when All For One reemerged on the scene and quite literally swallowed Shigaraki whole. The visual was simultaneously horrifying and magnificent. Deku loses both of his arms while trying to save Shigaraki, and we all thought it was over. The moment My Hero Academia fans have been waiting forDeku in tears (Image Credit: Studio Bones)Just when things seemed hopeless, Aizawa showed up with a plan. The way My Hero Academia built up to this moment was perfect. Aizawa managed to get his classmate Oboro's memory to come to the surface inside Kurogiri. He meets up with other heroes like Ectoplasm and a couple of not-so-popular heroes. On his way to the main battlefield, Eri willingly breaks off her horn to help restore Deku in whatever way. The scene where Aizawa tells Deku, "You can't die until you get to hear Eri sing," had fans sobbing. Then the portals started opening. One by one, Class 1-A students started appearing through Kurogiri's warp gates. Sero, Ojiro, and Sato were the first to arrive. They even saved Deku from All For One's attack. Then more portals opened. The entire class showed up, battered and bruised, but ready to fight. The parallels to the Avengers Endgame portal scene were impossible to ignore, and My Hero Academia fans absolutely loved it."MY HERO ACADEMIA GOT ITS OWN AVENGERS PORTAL MOMENT," one fan tweeted, with the post getting over 4.2 million views.Another fan said,MHA always took inspiration from superhero western comics, especially Marvel. With this, the circle is complete🙂↕️The excitement was real.Fans' Reactions to the Avengers-style Portal Scene in My Hero AcademiaThe community went wild on social media after the episode dropped. Twitter exploded with reactions comparing the scene to Avengers Endgame. One viewer wrote:That scene really felt like everything finally coming full circle. It had that same rush of hope and chaos colliding at once, just like the first time we saw it in Avengers. Love to see thisSome fans who haven't been keeping up with My Hero Academia are now considering jumping back in.No way they actually did this I may just watch the anime too now 💀said one impressed viewer.Another fan joked," On your left Midoriya "referencing the iconic Captain America line from Endgame. The comparisons kept coming. A fan said:You know… thinking about it now, Deku is basically Japanese Anime Captain America. Both started weak and fragile, they have a strong sense of heroics, they gained powers (mostly super strength based)… Yep… I guess he deserves this moment tooSomeone even admitted:I start to sing the avenger theme when I see portals ! xDNot everyone was completely sold on the execution, though. One viewer feltIt look so plain, wtf. I mean, it could be betterI love the parallel this is so beautiful The scene gave me goosebumps like bones did a great job job with the animationone fan gushed. Why this My Hero Academia episode hit so hardWhat made Episode 7 so emotional wasn't just the portal scene. The entire episode was packed with heartbreaking reveals about Shigaraki's past. Fans learned that All For One controlled Shigaraki's entire life from the very beginning. Even before he was born. AFO planted bad ideas in Kotaro Shimura's head. He also gave young Tenko a changed version of Overhaul's quirk. That quirk became Decay. My Hero Academia has always been about collective effort and hope. This episode drove that message home perfectly. One fan described the scene:Everybody showing up half-dead but got those 'I didn't hear no bell' eyesCan we point out that Kaminari is in is shorted out "Wheeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy" mode, but even STILL is gonna come to Deku's aid? That right there is friendshipanother viewer noticed. The small details like this made the My Hero Academia moment feel earned and authentic. Some fans initially worried about the pacing.I thought that showing the backstory of the portal slowed down the momentum and broken the flow, but then Eri gave her horn to help Deku and it just became better. PEAK EP AGAINone viewer explained.Others were hyped about what's coming next. My Hero Academia's final season only has four episodes left. Fans are getting ready for an explosive finale. The comparison to Endgame makes sense. Both stories are about bringing everyone together. They're making one final stand against overwhelming evil.ConclusionNo matter if you loved it or thought the animation could have been better, My Hero Academia gave us a moment that we will remember for a long time. Deku finally had his "Avengers Assemble" moment. And fans are over the moon about it.
