My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1 starts off with a voiceover by Yoichi where he talks about where he started as a vigilante, but then switches gears to what seems like just a simple trip to Osaka. While Pop☆Step is at her usual idol job, which is promoting, things start to go downhill and become much worse than originally thought.
The premiere establishes a web of interconnected storylines that orbit around a single carnival event. While Pop☆Step performs on stage, Detective Tsukauchi watches from secret locations. Eraserhead is beating up informants in a dark alley, on the other side of town. An undercover cop masquerades as an idol mascot. These threads are destined to crash together with consequences.
The Osaka Adventure in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1

At the beginning of the episode, Yu and Miu have a conversation that sets up what will happen later in the episode, which is when Pop☆Step travels down to Osaka for a promotion as an idol. Koichi is Pop☆Step's manager and will be travelling to Osaka with her, but he doesn't really get a great start to the trip from Tokyo Station.
There is a funny part where Koichi goes to buy some bento boxes when he misses his train, so Pop☆Step ends up calling Makoto in a panic.
All of a sudden, Koichi hops onto the train at the next station; he explains that the reason he came to be there was because his Quirk accidentally kicked in and created the suction pulling him & the train together.
Fatgum Makes His Entrance

When Pop☆Step and Koichi show up at the Super Minami Shopping District, they get their first glimpse of the Osaka hero scene. Some commotion has them running into Fatgum, who is a licensed hero chasing down a criminal while eating his takoyaki without a care in the world.
Fatgum's Quirk, called Fat Absorption, is demonstrated perfectly when he absorbs a bullet that is shot at him and neutralizes it. Once he takes out the villain, he recommends the two of them to the SS Mall.
Carnival Preparations and Hidden Agendas

In My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1, it introduced Konika Kaniyashiki (nickname Kaniko). She's full of energy, and her catchphrase "Heike Crab!" creates a lot of excitement in the waiting line for the mascot carnival, though most of the rest of the episode is heavy and serious.
At the same time, there is another story unfolding in the background. Fatgum is at a hidden surveillance centre, working with Detective Tsukauchi on the information he has about a drug deal that is occurring at the idol festival.
Eraserhead's Dark Investigation
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1, dramatically shifts tone with an intense action sequence featuring Eraserhead. It has Eraserhead interrogating the two Hotta Brothers and getting information about drugs from them. When the Hotta Brothers are confronted with pictures of Kirihito Kamachi (aka Kamayan), they immediately recognize who he is.
Eraserhead finds out that there's an upgraded, more lethal version of Trigger. He makes an offer to the Hotta Bros: if they give him 110% cooperation about everything involved with the drug trafficking ring he runs, he'll set up a meeting for them with Kamayan. This is a significant development and a crucial plot point that will undoubtedly carry through to the end of the season.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 premiere wrapped up with Konika getting ready for her operation by receiving guidance regarding where the drug stash underneath the food-searching rubbish is located. In addition, she realizes that she is to proceed without any assistance until the police execute a raid on it, and this cliffhanger makes the upcoming episodes to have immediate intensity.
Review of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1
Honestly, they did an awesome job balancing all the different storylines without making it feel too cluttered in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1. I think this is such a great way to hook both new people watching as well as those who have already seen the show.
In My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1, I liked that they used a mix of comical moments and serious moments. I mean, Koichi's clumsy train accident was very funny, as well as the Eraserhead interrogation scene gave a different vibe like we usually see in Vigilantes.
The undercover operation angle intrigues me most. It'll be fun to see how the two different storylines explode together, especially since Trigger has some crazy stuff going around.
Overall, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 1 rocked it as the kick-off for the season. It was a solid reintroduction of our favs and lots of new characters, some good ones too. Plus, tons of plots that will lead into future stories.
