Ao Ashi Season 2 is like a striker who’s timed their run to perfection by breaking through the darkness of the last season to find out what happens next! After showing all the ups and downs of the beautiful game, the creators (TMS Entertainment) have announced they will produce the show again

TMS Entertainment will be taking over Production I.G.'s place as the new anime studio producing Ao Ashi Season 2, and they have confirmed their premiere date of 2026. This exciting announcement was made through a cover leak from Weekly Big Comic Spirits that features Ashito Aoi tying his cleats on the key visual for the season.

Sports anime lovers have been waiting to hear more regarding where Ashito's story will go after Season One ended back in September 2022, with 24 episodes that displayed realistic football tactics and emotional storytelling.

Anime fans were introduced to Ao Ashi in April 2022, and Production I.G created an animation suitable for TV. While the show became one of the best anime series released that year, many probably didn't realise it was a remarkable series.

Ao Ashi Season 2 includes a new production studio, TMS Entertainment, which has caused a lot of differing opinions among the fanbase, with mixed feelings about the new creative direction. Some seem to be concerned, while others are excited to see what TMS has planned.

Continuing from the previous volume, this season is being produced will continue to adapt Yūgo Kobayashi’s well-known manga. The first season ended after adapting everything before Chapter 117, which means there is a great deal of material left for the upcoming season to adapt.

The Ao Ashi Season 2 will be based on the "Beginnings of the A-Team" arc, which is about how Ashito develops after being part of the elite team at Esperion (referred to as the "A-Team"). We will see several matches with strong teams, like Kashiwa, Tokyo V, and other similar teams, where the stakes are very high.

This season will focus more on the strategies being used when playing. The "bird's-eye view" that Ashito has will be enhanced because he will be playing against more and more talented opponents. Character development is going to be a large part of this season, and we will explore, through the characters in the show, how much of hard work, perseverance, and the importance of teamwork.

The transition to TMS Entertainment has become a hot topic within the anime community. The studio brings impressive credentials, having produced popular series like Detective Conan, Dr. Stone, and Fruits Basket.

One concern among some fans has been how TMS will keep the continuity of the first season's quality. It was only recently that the official announcement was made regarding the studio change; at the same time, the teaser image for the release of Ao Ashi Season 2 in 2026 was revealed. That being said, studio changes can be a mixed bag, but if you look at TMS Entertainment's past work, you can see they've consistently produced an excellent quality of animation.

A change in studios, especially when it's a totally different group of people working on a project, could potentially benefit Ao Ashi Season 2. With a different creative team working on the project, we may see new ideas come to life in matching scenes and the way characters interact.

Final Thoughts

Soccer anime fans are excited to hear that Ao Ashi Season 2 has now been confirmed! After waiting almost three years, we’ll finally get to see Ashito’s story continue again!

With a new studio on board that creates a lot of uncertainty, there’s also a lot more opportunity for new growth, creativity, and improvement. Having TMS Entertainment on board also gives us confidence that they intend to finish the story that’s left to be told.

Now that the manga has finished, the roadmap for where the anime is headed has been laid out! The countdown to Ashito’s next chapter has officially begun!
