Finally, after the long wait, the fans will finally get Blue Box Season 2 officially now. The romantic sports anime is coming back in fall 2026, as revealed in the latest issue of Shonen Jump magazine. Though that may feel like a long time, it provides the production team with ample opportunity to continue delivering high-quality seasons.

After a strong run of 25 episodes, the first season concluded in March. With Taiki and Chinatsu arranging their first formal date, it left viewers on a suspenseful note. Now, Blue Box Season 2 will continue where it left off, delving further into Chinatsu's personal narrative and their love.

The second season will focus more on Chinatsu's growth. Fans can see more of her past in upcoming chapters, such as with the introduction of Yumeka Goto, Chinatsu’s former teammate and good friend, who suddenly disappeared from both basketball and school. Her re-entry promises to stir things up and expose a Chinatsu we have yet to witness.

But the love triangle sticks around. Hina might have been thwarted in her quest by Taiki, but the two of them aren’t done. How she plans to live in their lives moving forward will likely be the subject of a heartwarming deep dive on Blue Box Season 2.

The show strikes a good balance between sports action, romance, and comedy. Anticipate more intense badminton matches, heartfelt talks, and moments so heartwarming that they make the characters likable. The show knows when to pull back and let the audience breathe between all the drama.

When will Blue Box Season 2 air?

The anime will probably debut in early October and run until late December in fall 2026. That will be in ten or eleven months. Although the fall release date makes logical sense, some fans were expecting a spring or summer release. It makes it possible for certain of the story's events to correspond with actual seasons, especially the upcoming winter sequences.

Additionally, there is optimism that Blue Box Season 2 will consist of 24 to 25 episodes, or another two-cour season. If so, a sizable portion of the manga, possibly volumes 10 through 18, may be adapted. Taiki and Chinatsu's relationship will nonetheless reach significant turning points in the anime, even if it is only one course with twelve episodes.

There is a lot of content in the manga that could be adapted. There are plenty of stories to share, with 19 volumes published in Japan as of March. This weekend's Jump Festa is likely to provide more information regarding the number of episodes and the precise dates of the premiere.

Where the story picks up

Chapter 80 of the manga marked the conclusion of Season 1. Thus, start with volume 10, chapter 81, if you are eager to go into the original material. Up until volume 14, the manga is officially available in English; additional volumes will be released soon.

Blue Box is a realistic tale about young aspirations, competitive athletics, and handling difficult emotions. Junior high badminton player Taiki has a huge crush on senior high basketball standout Chinatsu. Their lives become intimately linked in ways neither of them anticipated when she abruptly moves into his house.

Conclusion

What makes the series so compelling is how genuine the characters feel. Chinatsu and Hina are both kind and thoughtful, which makes the love triangle genuinely difficult to watch. There's no villain here, just people trying to figure out their feelings. And Blue Box Season 2 will continue to explore that emotional complexity with care.

The wait until fall might be tough, but if the first season is any indication, it'll be worth it.
