JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run brings its transcontinental horse race to screens with an unconventional premiere strategy. Warner Bros. Japan released a trailer on December 20th to promote the adaptation of this manga into an anime as well as the fact that it will be the 7th part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The anime will release on March 19, 2026, with the first episode being longer than usual for an anime, with an estimated 47 minutes. Netflix will stream the premiere globally, giving the 1890 American frontier setting room to breathe before Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli's bizarre journey kicks into high gear.

David Production is back to animate JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, and they're gonna keep everything nice and consistent with the previous seasons. Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, who directed Golden Wind, will be directing the Steel Ball Run anime along with series director Toshiyuki Kato, who directed Stone Ocean.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run takes place in the 1890s US. The narrative follows a crazy horse race across the US west to east, about 4,000 miles from San Diego to New York City, with a grand prize of 50 million dollars for the winner.

Johnny Joestar, who used to be a famous jockey, enters the race looking for answers. He is now paralyzed from the waist down, but finds hope in the strange things happening to Gyro Zeppeli, another competitor, who happens to be an outlaw as well. They team up to complete the painful journey together.
