Tougen Anki just got a green light for the next part (Nikko Kegon Falls Arc) by the company developing the series (REMOW). The announcement was made on December 26, 2025, right after the 24th episode had finished airing, catching many by surprise because they had just wrapped up the Nerima arc only a few hours before the announcement was made.

This sequel is officially titled Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc. There is a video that teases the characters in the sequel, including Hayate Todoroki. Studio Hibari will be working on it, and we don’t know when the series will actually air. This means we can expect the story of Shiki Ichinose to become increasingly darker than the previous storylines.

The story of Nikko Kegon Falls represents a big change in Tougen Anki's story. In this arc, we are introduced to Hayate Todoroki. He is a Child of Oni Gods and is the commander of the Kikoku Unit, which is separate from the Oni Corporation. The teaser image is of Hayate using his sword-like Blood Eclipse Release ability.

Shiki Ichinose is the main character who has been fighting in serious battles and learning about the history between the Oni and Momotaro. In this arc, Shiki will find out if Hayate is going to be a friend or foe on his journey.

What makes Nikko Kegon Falls significant

This next arc is darker than the previous ones. The Kikoku Unit is grittier than the other Oni Corp tropes in the lore, which means it'll create more conflict and these new types of moral dilemmas in the story. There's also a ton of awesome new characters that really open up the worldbuilding even further.

The setting will be the Nikko Kegon Falls facility, which will give us a chance for some really intense showdowns. A lot of fans of the manga consider this to be one of the series's bigger ambitions, with higher stakes, as well as a deep dive into the history of the Oni-Momotaro Conflict.

Studio Hibari is up against a big challenge when it comes to adapting an older series that really stretches the limits of what's possible in a dark shonen production. So far, all the promo materials have suggested that they plan on staying faithful to the original manga's intensity while giving their animation more pizzazz and spectacle.
