Readers of the Kindergarten Wars manga will not have to wait longer for each chapter to be released. This popular action-comedy manga is set to shift from a weekly schedule to a bi-weekly schedule. The creator has come out to release a statement that Kindergarten Wars Chapter 118 will be released on December 4, 2025.

For a second, fans were worried that Yu Chiba, the creator, was going to take yet another hiatus, but were instantly supportive when they learned it was just a short break so the Kindergarten Wars creator could make a temporary adjustment due to health reasons. This indicates the biggest reason why mangaka often fall sick and shift the release model, and it is the increased workload and high expectations of fans to receive a quality story in a short time.

On November 6, Yu Chiba took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the fans and announce the reason why there has been a schedule change. According to the tweet, the creator quoted:

”After continuing a weekly serialization for 3 years, my body started hurting, and I've been super busy with anime supervision and such, so we've decided to proceed at a slower bi-weekly pace until the anime starts! Once the anime begins, we'll ramp up the weekly serialization again and churn out the tankobon volumes one after another, so for now, please consider this the author's recovery period!!"

In the same tweet, the author has also apologised and promised the loyal readers of Kindergarten Wars that the following chapters will probably have 50 pages. While it is unfortunate that fans will have to wait, the reason seems fair, and with the promise of getting more content in just one chapter, it seems like the break is fully justified.

Since this statement was released, it quickly went viral among fans, amassing over 44,000 views in less than a day. This is not new in the world of manga because it has happened a few times that these Jump+ titles have shifted their schedule in order to accommodate the creator's health management.

Fans on social media have been understanding towards the Kindergarten Wars manga break and are encouraging the author to recover at their own pace. This manga has been taking occasional breaks for months at a stretch, but as this time the release date for new content is not that long, fans are surprised but welcoming of this new change. Some of the common reactions by fans are:

"Please take it easy sensei, a great recovery and quick visit some onsen! :^) Take your time, we totally understand and wait." Said one fan.

"Please take all the rest you need. This is one of my favorite manga series so you and your teams well being is most important. I am so happy for the anime and look forward to the next chapter." stated a fan.

This series gained popularity for introducing a unique premise: some elite assassins and criminals are not kindergarten teachers. Their duty goes beyond just teaching, as their core responsibility is to ensure the safety of these children, as they are the kids of the world's most influential people. Additionally, they also have to maintain an appearance that this is a normal school. With Kindergarten Wars also getting an anime adaptation, fans are hyped for it since this series is getting the attention it deserves. Currently, the anime is under active production, and we will get more news about that soon.
