One Piece’s Elbaph Arc has already contributed to countless unforgettable moments in the series, whether it be the mystery of the Harley Texts, Scopper Gaban’s introduction, or the appearance of the formidable God’s Knights.

However, the end of chapter 1149 of the manga managed to overshadow all these scenes by featuring the descent of the World Government’s Ruler, Imu. One Piece chapter 1150 reveals that Imu can use Conqueror’s Haki and is skilled in magic that can comfortably overpower and control the giants.

As One Piece’s main antagonist and the authoritarian figure responsible for all the evil acts committed by the Gorosei, the Celestial Dragons, and the Marines, Imu has been a source of intrigue for most of the series. However, over thousands of chapters, fans have only gotten a small glimpse into this individual and their powers.

Finally, during the chaotic events of the Elbaph Arc, Imu grew restless from the God’s Knights’ struggles and took over Gunko’s body to show up in the land of the giants. They claimed that the Holy Land was in a sea of flames and that additional military forces were required. Hence, in a hurry to defeat the main cast, Imu went on to display their unbelievable battle prowess in chapter 1150.

Imu dominates the battlefield in One Piece chapter 1150

After taking over Gunko’s body, Imu was quick to use Conqueror’s Haki and make the giants in their immediate vicinity faint and foam at the mouth. They took on a form akin to a devil, sprouting black wings, a tail, and a trident. Imu then ordered Killingham and Sommers to use their abilities to bring back the MMA and trap the giants’ children.

Imu did not wish to destroy Elbaph but rather bring it under the World Government’s control. Since the land was being temporarily ruled by Jarul, they wished for Dorry and Brogy to kill the elderly giant and take his place. Brogy seemed to care little about Imu’s command and caught them with his hand, planning to punish the antagonist for their crimes in Elbaph.

However, in a shocking sequence, Imu used a magic book to conjure a blade and a shotgun. With these, they could completely sever Brogy’s hand, an act which was thought to be impossible due to the giant’s physique. Imu did not stop there, as they used a spell called Domi Reversi to turn Brogy into a demon obedient to them.

Soon after, Dorry and various other giants were also turned into demons, after which they made their way towards Jarul to kill him. If they succeed, Imu will have conquered the land of the giants.

Imu’s strengths and abilities in One Piece

One Piece had not revealed much about Imu till now, but they were always a figure to be feared. They possess the most authority in the series, have sharp, arrow-like appendages, and appear to be immortal. The Five Elders and all the naval forces follow their orders and remain at their mercy.

Using these, Imu wiped out all information related to the Void Century and nearly killed Sabo. More dangerously, Imu has an Ancient Weapon powered by the Mother Flame, which can destroy entire islands in seconds, a fate that befell the Lulusia Kingdom. These strengths of Imu had been hinted at earlier in One Piece.

The recent chapters, however, have taken things to a whole new level. These installments showed that Imu can take control of the God’s Knights’ bodies and also has some sort of devil’s contract. Their magic skills defy understanding; they possess potent Conqueror’s Haki and can command large groups of giants by turning them into demons.

Therefore, it is hard to think of any other villain in One Piece who can become as dangerous as Imu, both in terms of power and influence.
