Luffy’s parkour cover and the start of chaos

One Piece Chapter 1163 starts with an illustration of Luffy. He is doing parkour with two monkeys. It is a hilarious image and something fans agree Luffy is capable of doing. This is a small, light-hearted moment before the intense God Valley Incident takes over the chapter.
The chapter continues with Imu (now using Saint Saturn’s body) launching attacks indiscriminately. So, from Pirates to Marines, no one seems to be safe.
In the middle of this chaos, Rocks D. Xebec steps forward, shouting, “Hey!! King of rats over there!!! You are here to kill me, aren’t ya!?” Imu responds with a line that sends chills down every fan’s spine:
“To think it was you… Davy Jones!!!”
Rocks denies the claim, saying, “I think you got the wrong person there… However, a ‘promise’ ought to be kept, won’t ya agree?” This exchange, paired with the chapter’s title, “Promise,” hints at ancient oaths that may tie back to the Void Century and the mysterious D. lineage. Many fans are already speculating that “Davy Jones” could have been Joy Boy’s opposite, a dark figure representing chaos and control.
The battlefield of legends

Meanwhile, there is no sign of the battle calming down as things seem to be escalating at a fast pace. Garp and his Marines arrive on the scene, torn over which side to take. However, in One Piece Chapter 1163, Garp has a moment of clarity and chooses to fight against Imu.
He shouts at Imu while mocking him. At the same time, Rocks and the Roger Pirates are locked in their own battles elsewhere on the island. In the middle of these events, we see that young Dragon has lost his consciousness.
Shanks is separated from him and, to save himself, hides inside a treasure chest. It is a small event, but it is an interesting take as this choice leads to the man he becomes in the future.
Big Mom joins the fray in One Piece Chapter 1163

The One Piece Chapter 1163 raw scans also show us that Big Mom arrives mid-battle on Zeus, immediately launching an attack on Kaido out of anger and rivalry. But just as she’s about to strike, Gol D. Roger bursts onto the scene, announcing his intent to take down Imu as well.
The strongest team-up in One Piece history

In what might be the most epic double spread in the entire manga, six of the strongest figures in history, Rocks, Roger, Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom, and Garp work together to attack Imu.
Each of these characters unleashes their signature move:
- Garp: Galaxy Impact
- Roger: Kamusari (Divine Departure)
- Rocks: Pandæmonium (Cursed Abyss)
- Whitebeard: Hakua (Space Breaker)
- Big Mom: Ikoku Sovereignty
- Kaido: Dragon (Unnamed Bolo Breath prototype)
The resulting explosion of power is so immense that it devastates the island. Haki storms fill the air. The sky splits. It’s a moment that rivals the most cinematic clashes in Marineford or Onigashima.
For an attack of his magnitude, there should be no chance that Imu could survive it. But then, in One Piece Chapter 1163, we see that Imu instantly regenerates. It points to the direction that this character is almost god-like.
Imu’s horrifying power: Domi Reversi

As the dust settles, Imu releases an overwhelming wave of Supreme King Haki, knocking out nearly everyone on the battlefield. Rocks charges forward to continue fighting, managing to slice Imu’s body into pieces.
Rocks shouts in anger as he demands that Imu stay away from his family. But it’s too late. Imu uses his dark ability, Domi Reversi (Black Conversion Control), to turn Rocks against his own bloodline.
The final panels of One Piece Chapter 1163 show Rocks’ transformation, and then the last page shows Eris and Teach running through the forest as the tragedy unfolds. It is a haunting symbol of the cursed legacy left behind.
Did Garp lose his memory after God Valley?

One Piece Chapter 1163 also deepens the mystery around Garp’s later allegiance to the Marines. Despite visibly rebelling against Imu and the World Government during the incident, he somehow went back to serving them afterward.
The reason behind this could be that Imu used his powers to alter his memories. Given his personality and moral code, it seems unlikely that Garp would have willingly returned after seeing the truth behind the World Government’s “Supreme Leader.”
