One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 has been released, and with that comes the conclusion of this latest season. Usually, when a series comes to an end, the fandom needs to get ready to say goodbye and make peace with it, but with this franchise, it seems like they are feeling a sense of relief that this latest season finally wrapped up. While J.C. Staff has been upfront with the fans that for Season 3, they have done their best, but it might not be as good as the first season.

Although the way this show started was disappointing, and even when Episode 12 aired, it ended in a way that ended up making fans feel frustrated, even if this was expected from the show. While One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 did one good thing and showed us a confrontation that was long-awaited by everyone, and also had flashes of spectacles, it overall lacked the fluid animation that makes an installment memorable. As a finale, it lands somewhere between serviceable and disappointing, never quite reaching the heights fans associate with the series.

The One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 opens by continuing the chaos inside the Monster Association base. We see that the Child Emperor has successfully escorted Waganma to safety, marking a rare moment of victory amid overwhelming odds. His brief celebration is short-lived, however, as updates from other S-Class heroes reveal that the battlefield is far from under control. Atomic Samurai’s clash with Black Sperm stands out early on.

He initially seemed like a villain who could have been easy to defeat, but then it turned out that he is posing to be challenging as Black Sperm's ability is to multiply. This made someone like Atomic Samurai stress because everything he slashed at his opponent was useless. The scene does a good job of reinforcing the threat level of the Monster Association, even if the animation struggles to keep the momentum consistent.

Elsewhere, Zombieman is ambushed by another dangerous foe, while Puri-Puri Prisoner’s battles lean heavily into the franchise's trademark mix of brutality and dark humor. These moments in One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 help maintain the series’ identity, but they also feel rushed, as if the episode is checking off story beats rather than letting scenes breathe.

Saitama vs. Orochi: A finale that falls short

The most hyped moment in One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 comes when Saitama makes an reappearance. His encounter with Overgrown Rover is one of the most classic moments of this character because he saw this threat as a misbehaving dog. This just adds to the humor of the show. The punch he ends up delivering is not even meant to kill, yet its shockwave ripples through the entire base, drawing the attention of both heroes and monsters alike.

Interestingly, fans have positive criticism of how this moment is portrayed in the episode. As this is one of the strongest positives in One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 as it sets the stage for the long-teased confrontation with Orochi. Saitama vs. Orochi serves as the episode’s centerpiece and the season’s final battle. Orochi is portrayed as an overwhelmingly powerful being, easily rivaling the strongest enemies seen so far. While the animation during this fight is noticeably better than much of the rest of the season, it still falls short.

Final verdict on One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12

In the end, One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 12 was average at best. If we were to compare it with other episodes of this particular season, it was definitely better, but overall, it was slightly disappointing. Those who have read the manga feel like the anime has robbed the main essence of the show that they fell in love with in the first place. While the production house has already announced that this season is going to have part 2, fans are mentally preparing themselves because if the upcoming installment is anything like this one, then the future of this franchise is in danger.
