One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7: Monster executives are introduced as real threats

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 finally brings the Monster Association raid after waiting weeks for them to get down to it. S-Class heroes rushed into combat with demon rank threats while support teams dealt with weaker monsters. Blood was raining from the sky as Atomic Samurai ripped through monsters.

The episode had plenty of action, but the execution failed. Instead of motion, we had still frames for the most impactful moments. Neon filters disguised the battle choreography. JC Staff even reused an animation they previously completed for the promotional video, but managed to mess that up, too.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 kicks off with our heroes infiltrating the underground base of the Monster Association. They are immediately met with fodder monsters that Gyoro Gyoro has sent out to test them. The psychic villain observes from afar, gauging the heroes' capabilities before deploying stronger forces.

Tatsumaki takes on Evil Eye, a demon-level esper type who has a bunch of monster eyes protruding from his body. It is a cool fight; even with the buff Evil Eye received, Tatsumaki is stronger and finishes him off easily. Her shield protects the team from falling debris, though she deliberately drops it momentarily to test whether the support heroes deserve her protection.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 highlights a few heroes ranked lower than S-Class. Captain Mizuki, a B-Class hero with amazing athletic skills, gets the most screen time in the episode. She takes out watermelon-shaped monsters in classic Olympic style using her natural strength.

Power Scaling Through Rhino Wrestler

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 shows just how wide the gap is between the hero classes by using Rhino Wrestler, a demon-level monster, who wants to measure his opponents’ strength. We see multiple A-Class heroes take their turn attacking the monster, and as they attack, they each get point values that represent their power relative to each other.

Needlestar delivers a mace attack that scores him 25 points. Captain Mizuki takes the same attack but uses a projectile and scores 30 points. A single shot from One Shotter’s high-caliber rifle registers less than Needlestar, at only 15 points.

The top-ranked A-Class hero, not counting Amai Mask, of course, Iairon, takes center stage and attacks with a score of 69 points. But even with this score, he was still unable to penetrate Rhino Wrestler's horn.

Now, when it is Atomic Samurai’s turn, he walks up and barely unsheathes his blade before realizing he must put it back in the scabbard again. It is more or less an instant that Rhino Wrestler's entire body was cut into countless pieces. Atomic Samurai scored 100 points, but there really isn’t any way to convey the true difference in strength.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7's climax reveals the Monster Association's executive cadre watching the surface battle. These dragon-level threats include Fuhrer Ugly, Nyan, Homeless Emperor, Black Sperm, and Gums. Monster King Orochi looms in the background as their leader.

Gyoro Gyoro claims the real battle is about to begin. These monsters represent the true test for the S-Class heroes, with each monster having strength that far exceeds the demons that S-Class heroes dealt with easily.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 clearly lays out the vast gap in strength and power, reaching disaster levels. While S-Class heroes can defeat demon-level threats easily, a dragon-level monster is a real danger. Even the Hero Association rates threats as "A-Class", by providing ten A-Class heroes to respond to demon threats, but they specifically choose S-Class for dealing with dragons.

Support Heroes Remain on the Surface

The episode concludes with S-Class heroes descending deeper into the Monster Association. Support team members stay on the surface as intended. Their role was never to enter the base, where only demon and dragon-level threats await.

Child Emperor states that from here on, everyone will fight individually. If each S-Class hero finds themselves in trouble, they may or may not receive help, since everyone will be in separate fights. This tournament-style structure allows S-Class heroes to showcase their abilities and talents under authentic pressure.

One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 7 positions the second half of the season to focus more on individual heroes versus monsters fights that push each character or hero past their limits. The episode serves as a transitional chapter where the session is moving from build-up to sustained action.
