The Sakamoto Days manga’s stakes are currently higher than ever, as Taro Sakamoto’s friends desperately fight against the new JAA while trying to nurse the protagonist back to health. The latest chapters of the series introduced the fearsome recruits who have joined Uzuki’s group, setting them up for intense battles against the main cast.

Realizing that they had to face the antagonists in head-to-head matches to buy enough time for Sakamoto to be taken to the JCC, Heisuke first exited the armored truck to confront Kumanomi and a masked assassin.

Sakamoto Days chapter 226 ended on a cliffhanger, as Lu also chose to jump from the vehicle to fight another recruit of the villains, a deadly policeman.

Sakamoto Days chapter 227 highlights Lu and Granny Miya’s resolve

Sakamoto Days chapter 227 begins with Lu dragging the police assassin out of the truck and signalling Shin to leave. The policeman gets up soon, equipping himself with a baton, and comments that Lu had better not be underage after smelling alcohol on her.

Meanwhile, the other agents of the JAA attempt to attack Shin in the truck. In the nick of time, Granny Miya rises to the occasion, pulling Shin back and slicing the necks of all the enemies. She then tells the rest of the group to be on their way, revealing that Sakamoto’s recovery is completely in his hands.

Although Shin, Kindaka, and Boiled initially waver, Wutang tearfully screams at them to respect his master’s wishes and leave. While Shin closes his eyes and chooses to carry on, Lu and Granny Miya prepare to fight the enemy in front of them.

After stabbing a random agent of the JAA with his own knife, Miya temporarily disables the police assassin with her acupuncture needles. While she tries to slice his neck, the antagonist barely survives by relaxing his organs. Seeing this, Miya says that the police weren’t as bad as she was expecting.

In his monologue, the assassin explains how hard it is to control himself from killing when he possesses the power to do so. However, with Uzuki’s new rule, he expresses satisfaction at not having to hold back any longer. The police assassin then reveals his main weapon, a Sasumata, and lunges at Miya.

She dodges and stabs him through the mouth, but he bites through her needle without hesitation. As he tries to catch her off guard, Lu moves her out of the way but ends up getting restrained by the policeman. Noticing an opportunity, Miya throws a lighter at Lu and asks her to throw up the alcohol she has drunk till then.

Lu obeys her command and sets the policeman on fire. While this pushes the police assassin back, it only ends up enraging him more. Sakamoto Days chapter 227 concludes with the antagonist sentencing Granny Miya and Lu to death for obstructing a cop from doing his duty.
