Sakamoto Days, created by Yuuto Suzuki, has been successfully serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020. With over 200 chapters and an exciting anime adaptation, the fanbase of this wildly entertaining assassin manga has been steadily growing for nearly half a decade.
Recent events in the story, where Sakamoto and his group had an intense confrontation against Uzuki and his allies, indicated that the manga has entered its final arc and is nearing its conclusion. Since popular titles such as Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and Kaiju No. 8 also ended recently, fans may be under the impression that an era of shonen anime is coming to a close.
However, by introducing several new characters in chapter 224, Yuuto Suzuki has seemingly confirmed that several thrilling battle sequences and narrative developments lie in wait, due to which Sakamoto Days is nowhere near its end.

Sakamoto Days chapter 224 hints at a longer runtime for the manga
Based on the events of the chapters before the latest, there was good reason to believe that Sakamoto Days was near its end. Shin and Taro Sakamoto had an intense battle against Uzuki's Organization, where they suffered brutal injuries and nearly died. However, with the rest of the main cast uniting to face off against the terrifying antagonists, the final installment seemed within sight.
However, Sakamoto Days chapter 224 has revealed that Yuuto Suzuki is far from done with exploring the world of his manga. While the main cast worked toward transporting the incapacitated Sakamoto to safety, the new JAA began hiring recruits to bring down their enemies.
As a result, Shiina, her brother, a mystery policeman, a lady with a baby, and a masked fighter have been introduced and quickly risen to prominence. In the latest chapter, the impressive firepower of Shiina and the terrifying durability of the masked fighter were revealed, where even Heisuke struggled to face him.
In the upcoming installments, the rest of Sakamoto’s crew will likely face off with the other new assassins as well as old antagonists such as Gozu, Kumanomi, and other supporters of Uzuki. Beyond these battles, Nagumo is also fighting Oki, which will likely involve the new Order, whose loyalty toward X's Organization is still ambiguous.
Only after all these battles and pending individual character development can Sakamoto make his recovery and start planning to bring down Uzuki. It is highly unlikely that Suzuki will cover all this content within the span of a few chapters, as the mangaka is not known for rushing his storylines.
Therefore, considering every interaction and confrontation that fans are expecting to see, along with the storytelling pace the creator has followed so far, it may very well take a few years before Sakamoto Days approaches its conclusion.
