As SANDA Episode 9 hits the web this weekend, Kazushige Sanda finds himself faced with his hardest challenge, not his enemies, but the self-doubt that has now started interfering with what was once a very strong commitment and passion. In this upcoming episode, we witness a complete battle between Chairwoman Tetsudome Toyo and Sanda. Following Tetsudome's devastating comment stating that he is lacking in his resolve to fully face children, Sanda starts to feel unsettled. The truth that she spoke has attacked him more than any weapon would have done. The SANDA Episode 9 premiere time will be 1:53 AM (JST) on Saturday, November 29, 2025. International premiere times will vary based on an individual's time zone. Episode 9 has been confirmed for a 24-minute run and, as always, will follow the same hourly timing as all prior SANDA episodes.Fuyamura and Ono, as seen in the series (Image Source: Science SARU)SANDA Episode 9 will also be available for all subscribers to Amazon Prime and to those who subscribe to Prime Video with Ads shortly after it airs in Japan on television. What Can You Expect from SANDA Episode 9?Namatame and Santa Claus (Image Source: Science SARU)When Sanda became Santa through Tetsudome, he began questioning whether the power he received was really what he wanted to grow up like as a "strong adult." The conflict that Sanda feels about who he is becoming is at the center of SANDA Episode 9. He has learned the importance of having a purpose for his power because power without purpose is meaningless. The discussion that Sanda will have in this episode with Namatame has more depth than most anime that focus on action. While Sanda has his own problems, it seems to me that Namatame gives Sanda strength to continue believing, rather than taking away hope.SANDA Episode 9 marks a pivotal moment in the series' exploration of power versus principles. Sanda's decision to endure violence without retaliation against children stands in stark contrast to Santa's persona designed for combat. By choosing to absorb murderous intent rather than returning the same energy, Sanda sets an unrealistic expectation for himself. What Happened in SANDA Episode 8?Niko gives a kiss on Sanda's cheek (Image Source: Science SARU)Episode 8, titled "Love, The Most Selfish Thing There Is," threw up some gut-wrenching emotional highs and people hanging by a thread. Episode 8 was all about how love can be a big threat to Sanda and, at the same time, set up the pieces for the end of the season when he will face his ultimate challenge.Fuyumura makes a dramatic entrance through a wall that shows off not only the visual spectacle of it but also gives some character development. By being willing to whack up the property, she shows how much of a friend she is to Sanda. When Niko boldly asks Sanda for a kiss, it escalates the situation into a big, chaotic moment. It was a simple request from a teenage kid, but suddenly it became a life-or-death situation. Also, Yagiuda was somewhat of an unwilling wingman the whole way through this situation, nervous the whole time, while Sanda tried to navigate the romantic landmines. The relationship between Fuyumura and Ono was often strained; they also struggled to find common ground as a result of Ono's sudden growth into maturity; on the other hand, they were childhood friends. What really steals the show is the encounter between Namatame, the killer from their homeroom, and the principal, Oshibu. Namatame demonstrated her propensity for violence in an outrageous way by shooting the principal in rapid succession. The contrast of Christmas music playing throughout the killings gave an eerie nonchalance to the act.Through murder, Fumi revealed her plans to destroy the Peak Youth ceremony, an event held in the time-honored tradition of celebrating the passage into adult life at age 15, which is viewed as the peak of youth in their culture. Among the people on Namatame's list are Santa Claus and all the adults attending the event.SANDA Episode 9 inherits all these unresolved tensions. With Sanda's conviction tested by Tetsudome and strengthened by Namatame, he enters the ceremony arc with renewed purpose but unclear methods. How he protects everyone without fighting children remains the central mystery as the series approaches its most dangerous confrontation yet.
