SANDA Episode 6 will probably touch on the moment with the headmaster discovers Ono right after she transformed all of a sudden due to puberty. Given the existing rules in this dystopian world that kids stay pre-pubescent until graduation, things do not look good for Ono. The headmaster's arrival certainly signals that he intends to do something drastic regarding her apparent newfound puberty.

Still, Sanda's own transformation to Santa Claus (or the inability to) is unresolved. He seems pages 8 and 9, and his feelings for Niko are developing, and they seem to be the thing that is driving him to transform into the idea of Santa Claus. Santa Claus can never fall in love with a child, so these feelings seem to distract him from using his magic.

Furthermore, with Yagiuda being the new undercover teacher, who knows the secret about Sanda's transformation but has no proof. Perhaps SANDA Episode 6 will provide some deeper context about the headmaster's true motives and the apparent disturbing behavior of the society in controlling these kids.

In episode 5, we were introduced to Niko, Sanda's fiancée that who has been assigned to her by the State. The idea of fourteen-year-olds having partnered arrangements is a bit unsettling, but Niko provided the necessary chaotic energy that this show needed. Her personality is whimsical and carefree, but there is a real interest in Sanda, which complicates matters as he has been slowly developing a crush on Fuyumura. Niko's demeanor was the opposite of what the episode ultimately revealed towards the end of it.

The episode discussed extremely disturbing issues with the society we have been introduced to. Children are drugged to prevent them from going through puberty and told not to sleep, as sleeping can cause rapid physical growth. This aspect of control is to keep children "valuable" to society for as long as possible. Arranged marriages are a result of the catastrophic population decline.

Fuyumura's character had some nice development this episode. She confesses to Sanda about being body dysmorphic and being on the fence with regard to gender identity. Although she looks older, she feels at odds with being either male or female.

Ono's huge return was jaw-dropping. After being absent for a few episodes, she shows up the night before passing out and having a wet dream. She has now transformed overnight into someone more resembling a young woman rather than a child. Ono charges at Fuyumura with a knife, and she expresses terror at the thought of becoming an adult.

The episode also included a sexually explicit dream sequence, which revealed Ono and Fuyumura's first sexual experience. SANDA Episode 6 will definitely continue to reveal more of this disturbing world while developing the more complex relationships between the characters.
