Spy x Family: Does Loid love Yor? 

Spy x Family recently sent the fandom into a spiral as Yor openly admitted that she was in love with Loid. This was a highly anticipated moment, since the fearsome assassin had shown several hints of having formed a romantic attraction toward her fake husband.

However, since one member of the relationship has confessed their feelings, fans may be curious about Loid’s own feelings toward his partner. Although Loid has not fallen in love with Yor yet in Spy x Family, he sees her as much more than simply a part of his mission, showering her with care and consideration.

Unfortunately, due to his tragic past and his dedication to completing his task, Loid has yet to even consider the possibility of actually being in love with Yor.

Loid’s complex feelings in Spy x Family

Twilight is a renowned spy who works behind the scenes for the sake of maintaining the peace between Westalis and Ostania. For his latest mission, he takes on the name of Loid Forger and sets up an identity by adopting a child named Anya and accepting a fake wife named Yor into the family.

Unbeknownst to Loid, however, Anya is an esper who can read minds, and Yor is a dangerous assassin. While Loid initially cared little about the state of his family itself and was only concerned with getting closer to the Desmond family for the sake of his mission, he gradually started growing accustomed to the comfortable environment in his home.

Having lost all his loved ones due to the brutality of war at a young age, he has been determined to never let war break out again and has worked as a spy for that very reason. Unfortunately, a consequence of his heroic duties is that Loid is also not in touch with his feelings.

Although he was once a sensitive boy with several friends, he has forcefully steeled himself to work on his dangerous mission. While he created his family as a mission tool, where he was clearly aware that emotional attachment was a liability, with every day he spends as a regular citizen with a loving wife and child, Loid has gradually began forming real emotions.

He has saved Anya on multiple occasions and always ensures to put her happiness first. Additionally, whenever Yor seems to be facing turmoil of her own, Loid stresses about her wellbeing and tries to put her heart at rest.

Notably, he has completely accepted Yor as Anya’s mother and refuses to let anyone else replace her, even though agents like Fiona are more than willing to take on the task. Therefore, Loid undoubtedly cares about Yor and has let his guard down around her on multiple occasions, showing that he trusts her.

At the same time, he is yet to consciously accept the fact that he wants to stay with Yor and Anya, having already lost his family once and wishing to continue his important work as a spy. Hence, Loid is still currently figuring out his emotions, as he is stuck between his duty and the desires of his heart.

While it is likely that he will fall in love with Yor in the long run in Spy x Family, he has currently not considered the possibility, and only deeply cares about her.
