Wandance Episode 10 places Kaboku at a crossroads between two conflicting mentors. Kabe teaches him his style, which is more about using power moves that are choreographed, whereas Iori teaches him his style, which is freestyle and has its basis in foundational moves the freestyle dancer uses to build confidence and master their style.

Wandance Episode 10 will pick up the competition narrative from Episode 9 and show the impact of those training philosophies on how they train and compete. Now that all four of the main characters have confirmed they're going to participate in the solo division of the Inter-High Dance Battle, the results of what they've trained in each episode will start to show up.

What Can You Expect from Wandance Episode 10?

Wandance Episode 10 will be about the preparations for the upcoming Inter-High Dance Battle. Kaboku will be grappling with the battle of the dreaded "choreographed" style vs the more natural "freestyle" style. On the whole, Kaboku's routines have been excellent (due to Kabe's training), but there are still many questions about whether Kaboku is actually losing his creativity by sticking to only what he's memorized.

This will be the follow-up to Wanda's episode, where she struggled with the basics - but now that she's seen Kaboku's rapid rise to success, she needs to keep trying and pushing herself, even if it means going outside her comfort zone.

Wandance Episode 10 should help us understand who Gaku Kabeya really is. He seemed kind of friendly at first, but it turns out he's really just using Kaboku against his competition with Iori.

The episode might also explore how Iori decided to get back into the dance club at his school. Based on the conversation he had with Kaboku about being more honest with On-chan, it seems like Iori is getting better as a person.

What Happened in Wandance Episode 9?

Episode 9 made B-Boy culture real when it connected the two main characters with street cypher events. The street cypher also allowed Iori to introduce Kaboku and Wanda to local breakdancers, including power-move expert Gaku Kabeya (Kabe), who has a very particular view of both dance and the philosophy behind it. There were also significant differences between the two regarding how they view breaking and its basic values.

Kabe and Iori have different philosophies about breaking. Kabe represents dancers who value technical, explosive moves, while Iori represents dancers who focus more on rhythm, toprock fundamentals, and musical interpretation. Their competitive past has shaped this divide in their visions of "real" breaking.

Wanda learned how to break from Iori, and she was super versatile with the moves that Iori had taught her, but she lacked some of the technical stuff to do with footwork (toprock and downrock). Wanda's cypher performance was very cute, and she stayed true to the overall structure of the style, but when it came to her footwork, it looked more like she was doing a workout as opposed to an everyday type of execution for breakin.

Kaboku was self-taught and had the help of Kabe when he created his pre-made routine, and so during the Cypher, Kaboku performed this pre-made routine without any mistakes and received a bunch of hype due to his technical and musical abilities. Iori and Kaboku both realised that performing a pre-made routine wouldn't really translate to a Cypher situation.

Wandance Episode 10 will determine where the show goes. There are now tangible objectives for the competitors due to the reveal of the competition. There are complications between the 2 sides of the mentorship relationship with unresolved issues. Whichever approach (Kaboku or Wanda) results in a better outcome will help determine how they approach the storyline in the future.
