Kabo's mental state is that he's beaten already before he ever steps on the dance floor because he's too busy watching Wanda walk away. He misses listening to the rhythm of the music. When they start playing the beat, Kabo's body doesn't even work with the rhythm. He's running around out there, but not because he understands how to move; it's because he panics and runs in every direction. As soon as Kabo makes a move, he collides with another dancer who is doing the same thing, creating an awkward situation. The judges in Wandance Episode 10 see right through him and will eliminate him within probably 10 seconds of the performance starting. The Comeback Round Offers Redemption in Wandance Episode 10Kabo as seen in the comeback round (Image Source: Studio Madhouse)For Kabo, learning that Wanda never actually left was a really big deal. She got to see all of Kabo's misfortunes and disasters, but more importantly, this new knowledge changed him at his core.Wandance Episode 10 gives him one last shot at the comeback. He uses his technical, locked style to showcase his precision on the dance floor. Wanda danced to pure musicality, and the different levels she hit within the song were not things that many other dancers could find. The judges said that her movement was synesthetic, seeing sound through movement.Macchin's showy tricks couldn't compare to her rhythmic accuracy. In Wandance Episode 10, Wanda is presented as an elevation above the normal concepts of dance competitions, and her win is a testament to the depth of her understanding of movement compared to Macchin's showmanship. On Faces the Former ChampionOn's first battle against Usen (Image Source: Studio Madhouse)The way Usen makes people feel hopeless and scared is largely due to his demeanor and known image. Even before he does anything at a dance competition, everyone can feel him move through the area due to his appearance and level of self-belief. His dance moves reflect his larger-than-life persona. On is unapologetically herself and will not submit to Usen’s intimidation tactics. She is extremely precise, fierce, and genuine when she dances. The way she utilizes rhythm in coordination with beats has a surgical quality. The way Usen and On both demonstrate their greatest attributes in a dance battle directly represents the difference between the approaches to excellence. While Usen does so with powerful imagery, On does so through skill and being true to herself. The bracket system also provides for guaranteed future conflict between the main characters. All four protagonists make it through the prelim round, so at some point, they're going to meet up as they continue through the rounds.Wandance Episode 10 also establishes, through professional judges, that the competition is a credible competition. Assay also brings back what we saw in earlier episodes, providing continuity. The judging is based on three major criteria: musicality, technique, and authentic expression.
