In Wandance Episode 9, Kaboku takes a leap of faith and steps outside the comfort zone of a rehearsal studio by entering a street dance competition as a battler; in a battler's life, there is no home; the competition arena is where every minute counts. In battlers’ competitions, it is a race against time. The length of each round is based on time, not on the number of moves or tricks you have up your sleeve, and every second that passes without you doing something is gone forever.

Wandance Episode 9 premieres on December 3rd, 2025, and will be available to stream at 9:45 a.m. EST / 6:45 a.m. PST / 11:45 p.m. JST. Episode 9 introduces B-BOY "Gaku Kabeya", who is a contender on the floor for Kaboku. Also, the Olympic Breaking scene is becoming more popular and will continue to grow in popularity.

What Can You Expect from Wandance Episode 9?

With Wandance Episode 9, things have officially switched gears from the first half, where the dance club was focused on competition prep, to now focusing on actual street dance (i.e., B-BOYING) culture and competition.

With this shift comes a new character, Gaku Kabeya, a B-BOY, who has some serious intensity and will bring new challenges to Kaboku and Wanda within the dance battles.

The Iori practice session will be another character development opportunity for Kaboku to continue working on his confidence and learning about different types of dance.

What Happened in Wandance Episode 8?

In episode 8, On Miyao and Iori Itsukushima had a hugely entertaining (and exhausting!) hour-long dance battle. Fans in the club went nuts, trying to explain what one dancer was trying to communicate to the other through their performance or whether something was going on. Some fans were convinced that Iori was using the dance battle as a way to lure Miyao back into his own crew, while others thought it was purely a personal issue.

The battle showcased the incredible abilities of both dancers; Miyao's experience as a popper was counterbalanced beautifully by Iori's House style. The elevation of each of their performances through the interchanges between them resulted in a spectacular performance for the audience.

After the dance battle ended, Kaboku jumped at the chance to throw down against Miyao. Although Kaboku had only trained for about 3 months in his entire life, Kaboku's confidence and self-esteem skyrocketed as a result of the dance battle; to him, it was like he was the star of his own film.

Big news came at the conclusion of the final episode. Iori has made it clear that he would not compete in any more street dance battles and that he intends to work full-time at the dance studio. Iori has also agreed to take on the leadership position of the club, succeeding Miyao upon his graduation.

Gaku Kabeya had his introduction through a video Iori sent out to other dancers. After seeing Gaku’s performance at the competition, many of the dancers were excited to learn about him and his talent.

The upcoming Wandance Episode 9 promises to deliver lots of action with season three, beginning with the Battle Arc and emphasizing both breakdancing and competitive dance culture via street dance.
